An eyedropper containing 5 drops of a white liquid which, when released, form into eyeballs. With a command word, you can see out of one of these eyes. The eyedropper can suck the eyeballs back up for later reuse.

MOAR ARTIFACTS

The Shield of the Wisent Witch was inspired by Hans Messersmith’s request and some of the great ideas the tavernites had for him.

The Codex is a #Stonetop -style spellbook. It’ll be one of the possible starting items for the Seeker, particularly for the Patriot background. The Patriot Seeker is a local of the town who has sensed the growing dangers in the world and sought out power from dangerous sources in order to protect their home.  I’m not sure that the Patriot’s possible artifacts will all be this dark. But definitely sinister.

Ring of Bloody Futures

#MagicItemMonday

When the Ring of Bloody Futures is worn and turned one full rotation around the finger, the character takes 1d4 damage from the small blades in it. If the ring is then put on a flat surface and spun like a top, the center of the ring will show a vision of the next time violence will be visited upon the character.

Yes I know it’s not Monday.

A character in my Dungeon World game received a shield that was once owned by Pencast, a great warrior of the Kenedhel, the forest witch people.  It’s a wooden shield with the abstract image of the face of a forest bison on it.

What are its properties beyond those of a normal shield, do you think?  There is no wrong answer.

Another stab at artifact cards for #Stonetop .  I found I was trying to cram too much into too little space, so I doubled the size of the cards.  That gave me space to make the consequences more elaborate and (IMO) flavorful.

As always, suggestions & feedback appreciated.

I’m thinking about making a whole deck of these, each with:

– a description

– a “learning to use it” power

– an “unlocked mysteries” move

– increasingly significant consequences for using it

The Seeker will start with 2-3 cards from the deck. One will be chosen based on their background, two will be picked randomly. They then choose 1 that’s secrets have been unlocked, 1 that they are still learning to use, and 1 that they do not actually possess but they know where to find it.

The rest of the deck (or the whole thing, if no one plays the Seeker) will be out there for characters to discover in play.

Thoughts & feedback appreciated.

The Charming Opener

The Charming Opener

The Charming Opener

#MagicItemMonday

Yes I know it’s not Monday but enjoy a bit of useful/silly.

This is an open palmed right hand made out of brass. From the wrist extends a small protrusion similar to a key. When the hand is inserted into a lock and shook as though greeting an old friend… Roll+CHA. On a 10+ The lock greets you back and opens up for it’s friend. On a 7-9 the lock will ask a question aloud from the Charming and Open Bard move, to which the character must answer honestly. On a 6 or less the lock begins to scream for help.

Silent Blade

Silent Blade

Silent Blade

Requires Back stab, hand, 1 weight

This Dagger or short sword is made with the needs of a thief in mind. It is tinted black or deep blue most often. The pommel is bell-shaped, giving the blade the interesting (if useless) ability to stand upright with some reliability. The silent blade makes absolutely no sound when drawn or used. The original intention was to keep guards from calling for help, but it is very effective at preventing the

casting of spells as well.

When you attack a surprised or defenseless enemy with a Silent Blade, you can choose to deal your damage or roll+DEX. *On a 10+ choose two. *On a 7–9 choose one.

*Your strike renders the victim mute, unable to call out or cast spells

*You create an advantage, +1 forward to you or an ally acting on it

*Reduce their armor by 1 until they repair it
