Proofreading needed

I am wrapping up a smaller L&B project that needs proofreading. Whoever chips in will get a copy of this 40+ page pdf for free. That’s a $4 or $5 value for several hours of your time! Plus proofreading credit if I can figure out a way to cram it onto the credits page (I just realized I need to do that).

I would like to get proofing notes back by next Friday, September 23.

First 3 people to respond are in!

Hello friends,

Perilous Deeps, a collection of 6 dungeons offered as a stretch goal for the KS campaign, is finally content-complete. I’m still waiting on illustrations from a couple of artists, but it’s looking good to get it all wrapped up by the end of November.

On that note, I am bleary-eyed from looking at this thing, and could sorely use another set of eyes to make a proofreading pass or two. I can offer you credit in the book and a free copy of the final PDF (or any other L&B product if you already have the Deeps coming to you).

People with some proofing experience preferred. Any volunteers?

I love the contents but I have one gripe about The Perilous Wilds PDF.

I love the contents but I have one gripe about The Perilous Wilds PDF. The font. Does it seems a bit ‘fuzzy’ to anyone else? Especially the bold text? (It’s not my screen, everything else looks fine.)

This is my first post in this community, so first of all : congratulations on a fantastic and successful kickstarter.

FotF – Magic user playbook, Arcane Research advanced move:

Is it possible to research a spell by accumulating weeks of study? Common sense seems to suggest so, because even with a 10+, 3 hold is clearly not enough to research one spell; but the description of the move is a bit vague about this.

Do the weeks need to be consecutive or can you alternate them between adventures?

Is there a limit to the amount of weeks you can spend on a spell?

Perhaps I am being a bit OCD with this move, but I find it a bit confusing that it does not specify anything about spending more than one week per spell being researched.

FotF – Healing Ability Damage calls out the Make Camp move as a means to regain lost ability points, but the closest mention to to that in the move itself seems to be ‘you may Level Up’, which would recover 1 burned luck.

It’s also not clear until part 3 of the Plumbing Procedure that “the number of common and unique areas should each equal the area limit”, and that sort of clarification would be nicer under the ‘Dungeon Size’ section. (‘Dungeon Size’ and ‘Dungeon Areas’ both have vague wording that could imply either [size = total areas] OR [size = number of unique and size = number of common]).

Page 18, under Loyalty:  “It usually starts at 0 but chnages often,…”.  The 0 should be +1 (see page 21, step 5) and the “chnages” should be “changes”.

Page 19, under Follower Moves:  “and can make the Death’s Door move”… should be *Last Breath” (Death’s Door was in my original text from Stonetop).

Not a typo, but something about the dungeon theme countdown should probably be clarified.

Not a typo, but something about the dungeon theme countdown should probably be clarified. Perilous Wilds p. 54 and p. 56 says that they depend on the dungeon’s size, but I can’t find anything about it on p. 55. Reading the example and looking at the templates in the Survival Kit, I assume that the number of themes is also the countdown for each of them, but it’s not clearly written.

Thanks!
