I’m so glad and proud to have worked with Keny Widjaja Luka Rejec guillaume jentey Mathias Redl, Yoann Depriester, Matthieu Papy John Grümph Alban Schuiten and Emilie aka +M.A.T. Méka-Drepth for the Fate cards of En terres sauvages. (https://fr.ulule.com/en-terres-sauvages/)

The 104 Fate cards are designed to help the GM with Dangers and Discoveries while exploring perilous wilds. En terres sauvages is the french edition of the excellent Dungeon World supplement Perilous Wilds by Jason Lutes.

The Fate cards those excellent people drew for are a new addition to the french edition thanks to our wonderful backers. I had the chance to work with talented french writers for these. Eric Nieudan, Batro, manuel bedouet, Magi max, Nicolas Dessaux and myself).

Below are illustrations drawn for the Fate cards and a mockup of the final product.

Jason Lutes, looking at my copy of “The Perilous Wilds” I’m not certain about the license, so I will ask.

Would it be allowed for me to create a Discover and/or Danger generator on Abulafia, Hex Describe, or similar engine? With proper attribution of course. I have created such a thing for personal use, but don’t want to share publicly unless I am sure that is allowed.

Hi Jason Lutes!

Hi Jason Lutes!

Hi Jason Lutes! In the Italian DW community we have an user asking for details / examples about the Scout Ahead “advantages”:

-Getting the Drop.

-Signs about the Danger.

From a first read, getting the drop on the enemy seems more powerful ad useful than getting signs about the Danger.

Thanks in advance for your insight.

Does anyone have any notes on adapting the perilous wilds generators for seafaring adventures?

Thanks!

I’ve been using the random dungeon generation to great effect in my campaign. However, one thing stumps me: unthemed areas. When such an area is discovered, do you simply give it a bland description? Or maybe do you treat it the same as the theme currently in effect, using an outcome of themed area to switch themes? But then, how to tick down the clock?

Curious how this has played out and how Jason Lutes intended.

How granular do you usually make a Perilous Journey?

I like the revised PJ-rules in Perilous Wilds, but something about the way it’s worded makes me unsure how to resolve it, and how often moves get triggered.

When PJ gets triggered, how often do they make camp? Do they scout ahead and navigate each day? If a journey takes several days, do you sum it up/abstract it in one make camp-move?

I guess it depends on the fiction, how dangerous the route is and how interesting the journey is vs how interesting the end of the journey is, but some examples would be nice.

Jeremy Strandberg, or anyone who has used the PW follower rules:

Do you assign Hit Points to a follower differently when they have the Group tag?

Like, I can imagine adapting the Grunt Squad rules from Risus, so that Hit Points represent something more like morale until the group scatters (or something). But I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking an obvious or not-so-obvious function of scale and HP for follower groups.

Have you ever used the Group tag to represent an army?

You know rolling on the random creature table was a great decision when the result comes up “BEAST+dragon” for a PC’s Summon spell.

In other news, ferret-dragons are adorable.
