I loved the perilous wilds, but never dipped my toe into FOTF, but am considering it now. I don’t need to know funnel world to be able to play it, do I? (I have Perilous Wilds and Dungeon World). Would someone be willing to give me an elevator pitch? What’s going on with second edition?

Where can I find the fonts used in The Perilous Wilds? I’d love to set up a form-fillable almanac recourse thing

I’ve always liked the knacks and instincts from dungeon world, and have incorporated them into my prep for other systems I GM, namely, right now, D&D. So I wanted to share some of my stuff. One of the knacks that I ended up liking the most that I came up for for these minor NPCs was ‘To experience PTSD’.

Matthias (M halfling) and Iris (F human)

Two young orphans, former slaves purchased by Beetel during their travels. Iris is solemn and serious, a poet and writer, while Matthias is an eagerly inquisitive soul and quick learner, with natural talent on and off the stage. They too owe much to beetel and the other members of the troop.

Matthias (Carefree Younger Brother)

Instinct:to do something remarkably well, to be happy, to be enthusiastic,to act without thinking, to be courageous

Knack: Natural Talent, Fierce Loyalty

Iris (Worried Older Sister Archetype scarred from time as slaves)

Instinct: to experience PTSD, to worry, to look for help, to keep a journal, to immortalize moments in writing

Knack:The mind of a Writer, the caution of an escaped slave,

Flaw: Mistrusts everyone but Beetel and the troupe. And that took months or years.

Jason Lutes Jeremy Strandberg  Hey, so I’m wanting to make an almanac that looks fancy like in the book for printout and bragging rights. What fonts did you use? And what program would you recommend for formatting it? I think it would be great if I could throw together a template that me (and others) can just punch info into.

More specifically, I want to combine the formats of the abbreviated as well as the detailed almanac so I have the detail of the second almanac example but in a more complete nested style of the first.

I.E. Region->Area->Steading-> Site

With the Region, the area having spaces for more detailed discoveries (such as sites) like in the detailed almanac entry, with all the levels intact.

For example, here’s some info for my current Perilous Wilds/ Dungeon World game.

Twofalls is a medium-sized island, roughly 10 miles wide and 25 miles across. It is so named for its two waterfalls that fountain over each of its sides, cascading down from the river and

Impressions:

• The unbroken spread of fluffy white cloud overhead, close enough you feel you could reach out and touch it.

• Orange rays of sunlight playing out lazily over your surroundings

• A feeling of weightlessness as you look out from the island at the heavens around it.

• The shapes of hundreds of birds moving among the clouds.

• SUMMER: The stifling heat of the sun, burning away the cloud cover, but not banishing the wind.

• FALL: Grass aged into hues of orange, brown, and red as they turn for the winter.

• WINTER: Frigid air kept at bay by the warmth of the cloud-dimmed sun.

• SPRING: Deep greens and bright reds turn the landscape vividly bright.

Within the region, I have an area:

The Still Moor-Area

Tags: Grassland, Rolling Hills, Safe

A tract of uncultivated grassland making up the majority of Twofalls, broken only by the natural curves of the hills.

Impressions:

• A cool, dry, wind sweeping the grasses into waves of emerald.

• A gentle isolation strengthened by the utter stillness of the wide-open flats

• The burble of a stream at the edge of hearing.

Questions:

• What protects this place from danger?

• What do they say about the sound of the wind in the grass?

• What do you know about this place after growing up in this area?

• Why is this place beautiful?

Within the area, I have sites and steadings.

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone.

Hello everyone. I’m running a new dungeon world campaign, and it’s been way longer than I’d like to admit since I’ve played some good old fashioned dungeon world. I’m looking through the game-mastering sections of the dungeon world book as well as a lot of the perilous wilds documents, and it’s a lot to keep track of. I have agendas to aim towards, principles to follow, moves to make, fronts to advance, and that adds up to a lot of paper around me that I don’t always look at.

If you could give me one piece of advice on running dungeon world, what would it be?

Here’s an unfinished move I found in my notebook yesterday. Kind of interesting, very weird format.

When you foretell someone’s fate with tarot cards, knuckle bones or other tricks of the trade, roll the dice and let them fall as they may. Looking at each dice individually, starting with the on nearest to you,(reading the results from the table below) and foretell their fate.

Dice 1: The Fortune

1: Death (of you or another)

2: Betrayal and Treachery

3: Suffering and Loss

4: Good Fortune

5: Vast Riches

6: Undying Love

Dice 2: Causes and Signs

1. The death of a loved one

2. A friend’s broken promise

3.A dark spirit’s passage

4.A companion’s actions

5.By the command of a king

6.Through divine intervention

Once a fortune is foretold, it becomes a prophesy and is fated to happen, but rarely in the way or the time that you expect. Write down the details of your prophesy to be looked at later.

Example Reading:

Dice 1-Rolled a 6, Dice 2- Rolled a 1

“Your future holds many potential paths, but today I tell you a bittersweet truth. Flips over two tarot card The reaper…and the fool. On the day that death comes for your spirit brother, the fool will come for you. But what is it that the fool wants from you? Flips over a third tarot card The queen. The fool and the queen. On the day that death comes for your spirit brother, the fool will come to lead your heart away, ensnared by a new found love.’

Example Prophecies:

Dice 1-Rolled a 6, Dice 2- Rolled a 1

‘On the day that death comes for your spirit brother, the fool will lead your heart away, ensnared in a new found love.’

Dice 1- Rolled a 5, Dice 2-Rolled a 2

“A vow made in steel will be broken by one who you call a friend, yet vast riches wait for you just beyond the horizon.’

You get the idea.

Hey, I’m wondering if anybody has made alterations or expansions to the equipment or market page for dungeon world?

Hey!

Hey!

Hey! I’m looking to make an ‘invention’ move, similar to the Wizard Ritual move. Here’s a rough first idea I have. Any advice?

Tinker

When you go to build something never seen before, tell the GM what you are trying to invent and what it does. The GM will give you one or more of the following conditions and costs:

*It requires considerable study

*You need someone else’s expertise to see it to completion

*The components are rare and hard to come by

*The components are expensive

*It will take a very long time.

*It will require continuous experimentation.

Dragon Blood (CON)

When you awaken the ancient powers of the dragons themselves within your blood, roll+CON and choose an effect:

• You unleash a burst of pure elemental energy in the form of DRAGON BREATH.

• Your scales change color: you become resistant to elemental or magical energy for a short period of time.

• You perform a feat of inhuman strength or fortitude.

On a 10+, your Dragon Blood responds appropriately. On a 7-9, choose one of the following:

• Your power is out of control: it causes unintended harm to others or yourself.

• Your power comes, but is weak and feeble.

• Your powers drain you, take -1 ongoing on this move until your energy is replenished.
