Hey guys!

Hey guys!

Hey guys! I wanted to wait to post this until after Bard Week, but I have a game coming up Wednesday. In that game, I’m playing a halfling druid that turns into dinosaurs. Seriously, his Land is “The Land Before Time”. I want a compendium class to help with the whole “calling upon the Great-Scales” thing, but none of the #druidweek CCs really fit. So I am asking you, loyal Tavernites, for help in creating a CC. Please?

Class Week is a chance for all the people that love Dungeon World to come together and be creative. Let’s share new content for the given class and discuss it’s fictional and mechanical possibilities. Let’s check the moves again in depth and see what can be done with them if applied creatively.

Any rules questions about them? We got you covered.

Class Week runs at the last of  every month.

July – THIEF WEEK!

Here are some suggestions of things from the community:

Puzzles.

Magic devices.

Applications for the Heist move.

Organizations as monsters?

Deconstruction of the archetype.  Why “Thief” and not “Rogue” or “Specialist” or w/e

What happens to thieves who steal from gods? (Maybe deal with Promethean themes.)

New poisons could be a lot of fun

I like the idea of discussing which fictional advantages the thief should be able to know. Like most classes would  _have to look through a room in_ depth to discern realities for a trap door, while a thief would merely have to _glance around to trigger the same  move._

How the class could do roles of ninja, assassination, mob boss, or beguiling con man.

Alternate/expanded roles might also include highwayman, pirate, spy, or detective.

Another thought is a way to get leverage for parley at a risk to the thief. The Phisher gambit.

Examples of Suspicion, Danger, and Cost for Tricks of the Trade.

Maybe some expanded thoughts or rules on loot (its value, where to fence it, etc)

_Alternatives to the poison  moves, because none of my thief players have ever used that._

_Examples of different Thieves Guilds and how to join, what they do._

Grifting for Fun and Profit

_I’d like to see a discussion of the Thief’s use of poisons._

Varieties of law enforcement (town guards, bounty hunters, mystical guardians). And different ways for characters to deal with them (bribery, corruption, truce). Good for both organized crime and individual Thieves!

Okay, #Druidweek  is over now, and as promised I will start work on making a Druid Week PDF with the collected discussions from the week. This will include;

– Discussions on the Tells and Animal forms for each land, including some of the little conversations that took place in them.

– Moves for animal forms for each kind of land.

– Various Compendium Classes, from both myself and Tim Franzke.

– Extra moves to take inspiration from, such as Herb Gathering or Parleying with Animals.

– Art from Giovanni Lanza, who’s done a great job.

– Talks about the Druids moves.

– Other submissions, credited of course, and with permission. For example Mike Weem’s Sacred Groves submission, or at least bits of, and then appropriate links.

So, why am I posting this when I’ve already said I will make the PDF. Because it’s not just going to be over. Druid Week was fantastic, a great way to kick off peoples inspiration, to all come together on a topic. I want to add even more, there’s a lot to grab from Tim’s hard work, and I will be adding my own things into the PDF to give something new even to those who were reading #Druidweek  religiously (I know I was). If anyone has any other submissions, any other thoughts, moves for the druid or an animal. Even questions, which I would submit into the PDF with answers from myself, and another I can get for extra answers and other opinions, send them to me. I would love extra submissions.

I will also in the next week attempt to do a Hangout, so we can get together again and talk about it. Although me being in England, I can understand time zones may be a female druid turning into a dog.

Thanks for reading, hope you’re interested, updates soon.

The Wolf Cloak

The wearer of this cloack, made out of wolfpelts is protected against the cold.

Well; that is not all. If you howl like a wolf while wearing this cloak you can make the Shapeshift Move to turn into a wolf yourself. However, when you do this the first time, start a countdown with 6 segments. When you roll a 10+ on you Shapeshift, fill in 2 segments, on a 7-9 fill in 1. When all the segments are filled you are forever trapped in the form of the wolf, unable to transform back.

Thank you to everyone that participated in #DruidWeek

Thank you to everyone that participated in #DruidWeek

Thank you to everyone that participated in #DruidWeek . I can’t really name specific people because i would forget half of you and that wouldn’t be fair. Thanks to anyone that started discussions or joined in. Thanks to anyone that created content, posted stories or spread the word. Thanks to anyone that read and gave +1s.

Thanks to anyone who voted Druid during the kickstarter.

I feel like Druid Week was an improvement over Fighter Week and we started really strong. There was so much discussion going on on monday. It’s a bad sad we couldn’t keep this level of engagement up over the whole week. I tried by starting discussions about the other Druid moves but that didn’t really work out. It might say a thing or 2 about the Shapeshift move that a lot of questions were posted on that and not so much the other moves.

I was really inspired by Druid Week. 4 of the CC i posted where directly inspired by the occasion, only the Druid of one form was planned beforehand.

I think we need at least a 2 week breather before the next class week; if people still feel like it’s a thing you want to do. We had a fighty and a magicy class now; i think the next one should be Thief.

I am very open for any suggestions on how to improve the “event”, how to keep participation higher, what to aim for etc.

Thanks again community.
