Boots of Speed

#MagicItemMonday

While wearing Boots of Speed you may Defy Danger w/ DEX to run anywhere within Near range in the blink of an eye. Note: You are not teleporting or flying so there must be an unobstructed path to your new location but as the boots are magical you may run up and down walls, across liquids and ceilings. The boots also do not provide any additional protection so running across minefields sets of mines, running across lava burns your feet. Unfortunately they are made of Quickling skin and most Fae folk will treat you with extreme animosity if they know you possess this item.

Bag of Captured Screams

Bag of Captured Screams

Bag of Captured Screams

This medium sized black velvet bag with silver arcane symbols on the inside was originally made by the Kidnappers Guild. Whether it is placed over something or something is placed inside it, no sound can escape the bag. The bag normally weighs nothing but each use increases the bags weight by 1 (in addition to the weight of items in the bag) unless the bag is turned inside out which “empties” the captured sounds all at once.

Ring of Bloody Futures

Ring of Bloody Futures

Ring of Bloody Futures

#MagicItemMonday

When the Ring of Bloody Futures is worn and turned one full rotation around the finger, the character takes 1d4 damage from the small blades in it. If the ring is then put on a flat surface and spun like a top, the center of the ring will show a vision of the next time violence will be visited upon the character.

Yes I know it’s not Monday.

The Charming Opener

#MagicItemMonday

Yes I know it’s not Monday but enjoy a bit of useful/silly.

This is an open palmed right hand made out of brass. From the wrist extends a small protrusion similar to a key. When the hand is inserted into a lock and shook as though greeting an old friend… Roll+CHA. On a 10+ The lock greets you back and opens up for it’s friend. On a 7-9 the lock will ask a question aloud from the Charming and Open Bard move, to which the character must answer honestly. On a 6 or less the lock begins to scream for help.

The Black Shield

http://imgur.com/sibYGWS

+1 armor, Dangerous, 2 weight

“So I says to him, I says. Firstly, you take one o’them there bags of holding see, and stretch it ‘cross your shield like so…”

A Black Shield is an odd item, it consists of a simple wooden shield, the front of which is a stretched open Bag of Holding held in place by an iron band riveted around the shield’s edge. The result appears, from the front to be a round metal ring surrounding a broad impenetrable blackness, a hole into nothingness, in its center, attackers attempting to hit the shield encounter nothing but empty space as far back as, and further than, they can reach. Anything dropped in there (weapons, bodies, evidence) is lost forever.

The Paper Dragon

http://imgur.com/VAQaX88

(0 weight)

A masterfully crafted (but otherwise mundane seeming) origami dragon. The head moves side-to-side when you pull the tail.

When you put a drop of your blood on the snout, and say the dragon’s name, Arioshfarghnfungareth. The Dragon animates and immediately grows to a gigantic size (still made of paper), the dragon will:

* teach you 3 secrets of magic

* answer any 3 questions

* grant 3 favors (GM decides what counts as a favor)

Once it has completed its duty, the dragon returns to its original size, becoming a simple origami dragon once more. The dragon will only ever perform its service for someone once, use it wisely.

The Coat of the Harried Wizard

http://imgur.com/m1YkoKD

(magical, 2 armor, 0 weight)

A quality crafted leather longcoat, faintly marked with tiny sigils of protection. Wearing this coat is equivalent to wearing Scale-Mail (and it counts as armor for the purpose of Moves like Arcane Ward) but it is as flexible and lightweight as any clothing.

Ecstasy of Oracles

“The priestess’ eyes rolled back into her head, and she began to speak in tongues. At first I thought she had gone mad, but after inhaling some of that incense she was burning, I could see it all too.”

This pungent incense produces mild hallucinations when burned and inhaled. While you burn the Ecstasy of Oracles and meditate within its smoke, any spells with the divination tag you cast are much more potent than usual. However, the fumes also cloud your senses, take -1 ongoing to any action besides casting a divination until you can clear your head.

The Vessel of Grummash

“The shaman twisted the knife inside of my squire, and his lifeblood filled a bowl that the orc held in his free hand. Dabbing the warm blood over his empty eye-socket, he roared, ‘Now you will tell me the truth!'”

This wooden bowl is marked with orcish runes, and has been heavily stained with blood. When you fill the Vessel of Grummash with 3 HP worth of blood, choose a person, place, or thing. Then roll+WIS. *On a hit, you receive a vision of the object, as clearly as if you were there. *On a 10+ you may also ask two questions about the target from the Discern Realities list. *On a 6- you draw unwelcome attention to yourself, either from your target or from an angry orcish god.

If you use your own blood, take +1. If you did not use the blood of an intelligent creature, take -1.

Seal of Solomon

“Do not call up that which you cannot put down.”

— H.P. Lovecraft

This iron signet ring is marked with highly intricate designs and runes. When you speak in a booming, commanding voice to a extraplanar being while wearing the Seal of Solomon, roll+CHA. *On a 10+ choose three. *On a 7-9 choose two. *On a 6- choose one anyway, but you’ll be getting a visit soon from a very irate deity.

– The being is banished from this plane.

– The being performs a simple command of your choice.

– The being answers one question you ask of it truthfully.

– Any spells, curses, or other magical effects caused by the being immediately end.

– You don’t anger the gods with your meddling.

I’m not sure if this is a DW specific question or not.

I’m not sure if this is a DW specific question or not.

I’m not sure if this is a DW specific question or not. What is #MagicItemMonday and #RangerWeek all about? I see these things popping up but I haven’t heard of them in other places. Is this unique to the DW Tavern or? If it isn’t, is there a master list I can look up of the different tags? Looks like there are a lot of awesome freebies I am missing out on =(
