The Pit Fighter was the very first DW playbook I wrote. Sadly, it was not my best work to date…

The good news is, I have completely rewritten and redesigned it. I scrapped half of the moves and wrote a whole lot of new ones. It is now even more fun to play!

I posted the new version on RPGnow just now.

So we updated the Clockpunk playbook on RPGnow. It has always been a fun character to play, but the Time economy was a bit tight, so we changed some moves to make the character a bit more powerful.

AAAND we gave it a new cover with original art by the excellent James Shields!

I am reworking The Clockpunk playbook, and decided that she needed backgrounds.

I am reworking The Clockpunk playbook, and decided that she needed backgrounds.

This is what I came up with. I decided to move away from moves to broader story hooks.

Ideas?

◊ Rogue time lord.

Will you annihilate the universe by causing time-space paradoxes? Who is hunting you and why?

You have a time-space interdimensional traveling machine. Describe it.

◊ Human mad scientist.

What are your plans for world domination? Why are you still dangling at the bottom of the food chain? You have a gang of minions, for example a tribe of hunchback goblins. What useful services do they render?

◊ Gnome tinkerer.

You have a rich and powerful patron. Who is it? What services does he require of you? What protection will he give you when you are in trouble? What are the advantages of being small and smart in the big people world?

◊ Orc prodigy

How does your tribe react to individuals who can do unnatural things like count and read? You have +1 Str. When you level up, you may take a move from the Fighter playbook, once.

I started playing Dungeon World a few years ago with my kids. My daughter, who is now 16 years old, told me a few days ago that she is writing a book on Wattpad, that I should check it out. She has published 3 chapters so far. And yes I know, every dad believes his own daughters are the most talented and beautiful things in the universe. So bear with me…

What strikes me is the definite influence of Dungeon World on her writing. I have read that RPG’s train people to be creative writers. I believe I now have conclusive proof of this in my own house.

The link to her story is here: http://my.w.tt/UiNb/QJdNbzNwdw

( I know she will hate me if she finds out about this post, but hey, isn’t that what dads are for?😊)

So thank you Sage LaTorra and Adam Koebel, for inspiring a young artist!

So what license is the new DW playbook design published under? May I steal it for my playbooks?
