I’ve been kicking around a Mountebank playbook for quite sometime.

Its not done (hell I haven’t played this thing yet). But I figure maybe just maybe I can get others to play it and tell me what they think. Enjoy!

(As a note, I created a iBooks Author template that I’m using, I prefer the less ink intensive variety, and my fonts are borked enough that InDesign just won’t work)

A weird thing I noticed about the Barbarian: “Full Plate and Packing Steel” allows you to ignore the “clumsy” tag, but the only starting armor available to the class is chainmail, that doesn’t have that tag. I know that, as a barbarian, I can walk into a smith’s forge and buy a plate 5 minutes into the game but still… that feels weird.

I love me some fantasy firearms, especially if they’re in the hands of crazy dwarves or gnomes! The Artillerist is a mixture of the Hunter/Engineer from WoW, fantasy alchemist, and any given Clint Eastwood Character.

I’m not 100% solid on some of the advanced moves.  Any feedback is appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’m sort of lost about the state of the Barbarian class. Does anybody have a link to the latest version?

Presenting a new base class (rather overdue), the Alchemist, primarily designed to fit into a game within the setting of the Monster Blood Tattoo novels which don’t really have magic as such, much like two previous compendium classes I’ve done, the Fulgar and the Wit. I’m not really trying to reinvent the wheel with this class, it’s basically a Wizard variant with a few little tweaks I thought were neat. The potive (spell) list isn’t complete yet, so for the time being it’s usable only with the Wizard spell list. I’m sure I’ve made some mistakes somewhere along the line though, so please gimme some feedback on how to make this class better.

Trying my hand at a base class. Not quite done; I’m still brainstorming advanced moves.

I’d love feedback— my gut feels it might be a bit underpowered.

Hi peeps

Hi peeps

Hi peeps,

Long time reader, first time contributor! I love the look of Dungeon World and am incredibly excited to play it. In advance of doing so, I had some ideas about a dark Paladin, and eventually those ideas congealed into a Death Knight base class. I think it might be too dark to really fit into an adventuring party, but I at least thought I’d put it out for discussion and see what people thought of it. Is it (somewhat) balanced? Do any advanced moves jump out at you that I missed? I haven’t sorted the advanced moves into 2-5 and 6-10 buckets yet, and suggestions on how to do that would be very welcome.

The Marksman

The Marksman

The Marksman

An introduction? Feh! As if your talents require an introduction? There’s no need for you to wear out your tongue singing your own praises–about the towering beasts you’ve reduced to whimpering pincushions, about the countless contests you’ve effortlessly sweeped, about the fair hearts you’ve won with your dashing good looks and undeniable charm. Why introduce a hero whose reputation precedes them?

Sure, maybe the Rogue managed to walk away from your last adventure with his pockets a little heavier than everyone else. So the Fighter took home an extra trophy skull or two. Who cares if the Paladin gained favor with his god, or the Bard was inspired to write a new verse? You’ve won the greatest reward of all–and you earned it, too. Because when you walk through the cheering crowds of that village after a long battle, holding your head high and grinning ear to ear, you don’t need to tell people what you’re so proud of. No. They can see it for themselves.

You’re the greatest Marksman who ever lived, that’s why, and any hapless chump who wants to claim otherwise can meet you on the archery range.

I’ve got a new version of The Marksman, with a much-increased focus on the theme of a glory-seeking (and -reveling-in) sharpshooter. The overall class has gotten some minor and medium-sized tweaks, and I’ve added a new selection of “flavor choices” to the gear list to help inspire players to decide just what it is their Marksman wants from all that fame they’re going to be seeking out. The main thing I’m unsure about this time is Maybe You’ve Heard of Me?, which I suspect is either going to be a brilliant move or a terrible move. I’m seriously tempted to swap it with Don’t Be Such a Wuss and have it be a basic move, but I’d like to get a second opinion or two on that before I make the call.
