First post here.  I’ve ran a single session of Dungeon World at this point and me and my group absolutely love it.  One problem though- we are, let’s just say, mature and our eyes suck.  The stock character sheets font size is a pain in the ass.  So I’ve set out to make our own.  I’ve got the format done in InDesign (which is the first time I’ve used it) and have just finished the Thief sheet.  Considering the amount of work that goes into making the individual class pdfs (since you cant set fonts for fields and such in InDesign), I figured I’d post a link to the thief sheet here for critique and input from those more experienced with the game.

It’s one of the (many, rather) classes I’ve been working on, and I really do like it.

It’s meant to be an aggressive warrior with some distinction from the fighter. It’s also meant to be closer to the “combat-y” barbarian than the official one (which I like, anyway).

Figured I’d throw it out here and see what’s good.

I’m a huge fan of the intro blurbs on pages 6 to 9.

How about for the awesome Mage or Artificer base classes from Jacob Randolph ? http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/108623/Dungeon-World-Alternative-Playbooks

After some player feedback pointing out that my writing wasn’t entirely clear in places and that +1 bonuses are pretty boring, I rewrote the Shaman. Here’s the Shaman 2.0. Any feedback is appreciated, especially suggestions for move names (I’m shit at coming up with interesting ones).

One thing I’m sort of worried about is that there’s a lot of the moves that don’t require a roll because they have an HP cost. This is partly because I don’t want to have a tonne of advanced moves that require rolling, but I’m slightly worried it might mess with the XP gain curve (Sage LaTorra, Adam Koebel: I know you guys are busy right now, but any feedback/in-depth mathing on this and on the idea of HP costs would be very welcome).

The other thing is that I have way too many words, but oh, well!

>>Assign these scores to your stats: 16 (+2), 15 (+1), 13 (+1), 12 (+0), 9 (+0), 8 (-1)<<

This is a total of 73 stat points.

Due to player request in am considering a pool of 75 stat points to be assigned as the player desires.

Anyone try similar character attribute “generation” variations? Maybe even rolling some dice to determine attributes? 🙂

Finally finished putting together my customized DungeonWorld character sheets that I’ll be using for the adventures I’m running for my brother and his friends. It didn’t take long for them to want to start taking moves from other classes…so I figured having these little half-sheet (5.5×8.5″) character sheets, with the right Moves sections stapled together would be a bit easier than flipping through several pages of unrelated information. And when they take advanced moves? They can staple that on as well.

And here’s a 2-up version (on 8.5×11″), for those of you who can’t normally step and repeat PDF documents at home.

Are there any half-orc moves for clerics around? My player would like to play a grumpy half-orc mystic :)

Shortly after playing my first game of Dungeon World, I got back into Final Fantasy XI.  I was inspired to try to write a base class based on the iconic Final Fantasy Blue Mage.  This is the first class I’ve tried to write, and I think it needs more Advanced Moves, but what do you guys think so far?

I hear that there’s a revised version of the Barbarian floating around, and I’ve got a game starting in an hour.

A Lover In Every Port (CHA)

When you enter a town that you’ve been to before (your call), roll +CHA. On a 10+, there’s an old flame of yours who is willing to assist you somehow. On a 7-9, they’re willing to help you, for a price. On a miss, your romantic misadventures make life more complicated for the party.

Daring Devil (DEX)

When you laugh confidently before performing a crazy acrobatic feat, describe it and roll +DEX. On a 10+, choose three. On a 7-9, choose two:

• You end up exactly where you want to be

• You don’t attract unwanted attention

• You grab someone nearby and bring them along with you • You show off and feel fantastic about it – take +1 forward

Plan of Action

There is always a chandelier, rope, window, cart, easily-spooked herd of livestock, or similar unusual environmental hazard handy in any situation in which it would be convenient for you and remotely plausible.

It goes like that. And goes and goes like that. This is, I think, maybe the best, most compact distilled essence of the swashbuckling adventurer I’ve seen in rolegaming.

If you like this kind of thing, you will wish to send Jacob and DriveThru $2.49 of your money.
