So, the cleric was in a sort of magical items and ingredients store and he said: “well while I’m here I use my remaining questions from discern realities to search for something useful for the wizard”

I turned myself to the wizard and said to him: “well, in what are you interested?”

The wizard replied: “why, ultimate knowledge of course! I guess the cleric finds some mystical tome or something…?”

Me: “gee I’m tired of tomes and books and whatnot. You, cleric, find a bottle full of big, pink pills which quadratically augment the user’s mental faculties, like they expand their mind to impossible, almost painful levels of intellect.”

BIG PINK PILLS

When you eat a BPP,  in the near future you can either trigger a spout lore roll about something you couldn’t possibly know or you can decide to add +int instead of +wis on a discern realities roll and then ask whatever question you like (you still can ask 1 or 3 questions depending on the result). If you miss one of those rolls, it’s considered a 10+ result for the effect of the move, but the GM can go crazy about the side effects of the pills. You can eat more pills at once, proportionally increasing the number of moves you can exploit in this way.

Tetanus, Iron Dirk of the Giants

close, two-handed, forceful, 3 weight

Found frozen in the Great Ice Shelf, North of the Cloudspear Mountains, Tetanus was first believed to be the exceptionally large two-handed weapon of Goram, the giant-killer. Badly corroded, it remained on display at the university of Hammerfall for decades, until a scholarly visitor noted that the notches on the rusty iron blade suggested it was used to stab, not cut. After renewed research, it was discovered to be Tetanus, the Iron Dirk of a legendary giant thief.

Tetanus counts as a two-handed sword in the hands of any (roughly) human-sized creature. It increases the damage die of the wielder to d12, and has the forceful tag.

When the Iron Dirk deals damage, the target will be stricken with the shaky debility until healed by a rare runic spell found only in the Northern villages of Enuflheim. When wielded with bare hands, the same effect may apply to the careless swordsman.

Scroll-Caster

Scroll-Caster

Scroll-Caster

This silver tube, engraved with an intricate artistic pattern, appears at first glance to be an elaborate scroll case. The caps on either end are each set with a roughly-hewn onyx, bound in silver wire. When a common scroll is in the tube, and both ends caps are fastened, the wielder can sense the arcane energies present and harness them as if they were a spellcaster.

When you gesture with the scroll-caster in hand and speak the command word, roll+INT. On a 10+, the spell scribed onto the scroll is successfully cast (as if it were castable by you or on your class’s spell list). On a 7-9, the spell is cast, but choose one:

• You draw unwelcome attention or put yourself in a spot. The GM will tell you how.

• The spell disturbs the fabric of reality as it is cast—take -1 ongoing to using the scroll-caster until you wait for a minute or two and let reality settle back into place.

• After the scroll’s spell is cast, the scroll is depleted, leaving behind an ordinary sheaf of parchment.

Sir Hadrian’s broadsword

Few men earned such a fearsome reputation as this fallen paladin. He would charge fearlessly into any battle and leave a trail of body parts behind him. He would sooner behead a heretic than offer a chance to repent. And when he could find no more monsters to slay, he turned on his comrades, accusing them of treachery as he rent them to pieces. The men he once called his friends were the first to be executed. For his actions, he was cast out of the royal paladins and his name erased from their records. But that didn’t stop him from becoming a killer. Without a sane cause to call his own, he soon grew to kill simply for the sport of it. Never could he rest or settle down, something always drove him into battle even as old age crept up on him. Though Sir Hadrian eventually vanished, his anger and bloodlust lingers in his blade to this day.

A knight’s sword of old design. Old bloodstains cover the hilt, but it is still quite sharp. It is normally a close, +1 damage weapon. When you call upon the bloodthirsty spirits of this weapon, your attacks also get the messy and forceful descriptors as battle-lust inflames you. However, the rage of this weapon may fog the wielder’s mind, making him unable to distinguish friend or foe. There is also a rumor that Sir Hadrian’s spirit still walks the land, and he wants his sword back…

Night’s Eyes

Night’s Eyes

Night’s Eyes

You find two perfectly round black pearls that seem to drink in the light. They reflect vague shapes and forms. It almost looks like there’s something in them.

When you look into them, they suddenly jump forward to your eyes and blood spurts out as your eyes are eaten out completely and replaced by the Night’s Eyes. Roll+CON.

You can now see perfectly in the pitch dark, but light hurts your eyes. You suffer -1 to actions involving sight in such conditions. But, you can also see the outline of invisible objects sometimes. You suffer -1 charisma when your eyes are visible.

On a 10+, you manage to stay conscious through the pain and agony, but suffer 1d6 damage.

On a 7-9, you are either knocked out from the pain and suffering for 12 hours or manage to stay conscious but suffer 2d6 damage.

On a fail, you fall unconscious from the pain for 24 hours. your eyelids were also destroyed and you suffer a further -1 to your charisma permanently unless you conceal your eyes. You must also find a way to moisturize them or you suffer 1 damage each day from the pain.

Minotaur Blood

This elixir was originally an orcish concoction. While minotaur blood is no longer the main ingredient, it still retains the same dark red color and viscosity. Modern alchemy has replaced the blood with cheaper ingredients to help reduce the… unpleasant side effects.

The drinker of this potion takes +1 forward to his next two STR rolls and -1 forward to his next CHA or INT roll. These effects expire after a night’s rest.
