Two Magical Carpets (Weight 3)
Two Magical Carpets (Weight 3)
Carpet of Transport: Acts as a wizard’s Teleportation spell for all those on the carpet as per the Dungeon World Rule book, but spell failure is treated as a partial success.
Flying Carpet: The jinni bound to this item is wild and unruly. When undertaking a journey on the Flying Carpet roll +DEX upon landing. 10+ indicates a successful journey, 7-9 means a rough landing and each passenger takes a hit point of damage. On a failure the carpet will try to drop the player with the lowest dexterity during flight. The player must roll+DEX or take 2d6 in falling damage. A partial success will mean the damage is halved.
It’s been awhile. Here, have some more artifacts (major arcana) for #Stonetop.

This time, the Staff of the Lidless Eye and the Twisted Spear. (The Twisted Spear needs a better picture, but that’s sort of gets the idea across.)
As always, feedback appreciated!

Hey everyone – I’m trying to create a new item for a game I’m running and I’m still a little new to magic items in Dungeon World. Quick setup for the item is that I want it to have some tie to Droz’t, the god of Civilization and Order. This is the same god who destroyed the family, city, and priesthood that one of the characters is from (using the Survivor playbook from Inverse World).
I want to tempt the Survivor with it, as he is a former priest of that faith and has no belongings from that time in his life. My initial thoughts are something like this:
When you would take a massive amount of damage, you may call upon the torque’s power to defend you. If you do you are enveloped in a soft golden light that protects you – but this protection comes at the cost of a memory you cherish.
I was thinking of having a list of boons that also can be checked when the torque is used, with maybe the payoff being that the memories are returned.
Thoughts?
A CORNUCOPIA OF MAGICAL STUFF.
A CORNUCOPIA OF MAGICAL STUFF.
So, the game works as follows:
A poster creates a magical object, given some constraint words.
Then, he gives some constraint words for the following poster.
Example:
The previous poster gave me the words: FEATHER, TOXIC, CHILD
I create:
Shakaviel’s Dream.
This is all that remain of Shakaviel after it got devoured from its followers. The corridors of the crystal city of Shakaviel-Sitii resound of the echo of its “a bit too successful project”: a humanity that has “love” as its fist command.
Shakaviel’s feathers are jet black, similar to those of a swan, sprinkled with some golden stains – its dried, lethal ichor.
MOVE:
When you let a feather lie for a night under the light of the stars, you’ll find a Crystal child, the following day.
Crystal child (follower)
A pale small girl, or boy. They have a smell of jasmine, and eyes filled with a mixture of wonder and joy towards the world.
Quality: +2
Loyality: 0
Price: do good things.
Instinct: follow the orders and desires of its maker (regardless of anyone security, itself and its maker’s one included)
Theology-wise, Human-hearts wise, corrosive ichor.
Damage: 1d4
HP: 6
For the next object: DEMON CONTAGIOUS LIQUID
Item feedback please!
Item feedback please! A few sessions ago my players convinced an NPC who was a part of a militant order of exorcists to join them on their travels. She carries the bound skull of a lich as her reluctant travelling companion. I have treated the skull as a bag of books 3x/session, that is not always cooperative, and sometimes asks for the sacrifice of small animals in return for information. That said, I’ve been feeling like I should maybe up the anti with something like:
When you consult the Lich’s Skull roll +CHA. On a 10+ take +1 forward on Spout Lore, as the Lich’s Skull shares it’s arcane secrets. On a 7-9 take +1 forward on Spout Lore, but the Lich’s Skull takes 1 hold on you. On a 6- the Lich’s Skull takes 2 hold, and tells you an awful truth. When the Lich’s Skull has 10+ hold on you, and every time the number of hold reaches 10+ roll Last Breath. If your character succumbs to death, the Lich’s Skull can now use your body as it’s own.
I’m trying to create a magical artifact of intense power for my campaign.
I’m trying to create a magical artifact of intense power for my campaign. It’s called “The Architect’s Rod,” and the purpose of it is to generate massive buildings, castles, and even cities. However, I’m not sure what the rolls would be for this, or any of the mechanics. It’s an interesting concept and I’m sort-of already working it into my campaign. Help?
Lots of neat stuff and it will go really good with my pirate world I’m making.
Lots of neat stuff and it will go really good with my pirate world I’m making. Got over half of the world fleshed out already with a few different races, like in Sundered World and maybe one or two new classes.

Need some Magic Tattoo thoughts
Need some Magic Tattoo thoughts
A barbarian HAD a tattoo of a map on his back. This tattoo was given to him while he was in a drunken stupor by the Kenedhel, a people well schooled in witchcraft. The map tattoo was intended to bring the barbarian to the homeland of the Kenedhel to fight some bad guys for them. The barbarian did so, earning their respect and friendship. The Kenedhel have worked over the old map tattoo into a new tattoo, with some kind of (probably minor) magical properties.
Question: What does this new tattoo do?
