Hey everyone!

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone! My new class is coming along fabulously! I’m really excited to finally release it, but I was just wondering if anyone could help me concerning illusions. I’m assuming there already are existing mechanics for illusions, but how exactly do they work? Do they have health? Do they do damage? Can they cast certain spells? Thanks! 🙂

Guys.

Guys.

Guys. Ran my first DW session last Friday. I come from a background of F20 (a la Robin Laws). I was pretty proud that I resisted the urge to have them do “perception” checks to just see stuff. Instead I invoked moves like: “Show signs of an approaching threat” (You glance back and see a couple goblin heads peeking around the corner) and “Reveal an unwelcome truth”.

But I have one character who is a Druid.

The Druid is from the Towering Mountains, and chose to shapeshift into a Bear. Do I need to come up with a move on the spot for the animal he changes into? From reading the Shapeshifter move, it sounds like yes. So I gave him Trample and Thick Furry Hide. Trample: if he does damage to an opponent in Hack and Slash, he knocks them down. Thick Furry Hide: means he has +1 armor if he takes damage until he rolls a 6- in Hack and Slash. Now that I think about it, the Hold 3 or Hold 1 would automatically limit Thick Furry Hide, and I can take away the clause about “until he rolls a 6-” Comments? I feel like those are still a bit too F20.

Thanks!

This should be of interest to Alatha Admin

Shady Business

You have a lot of associates in shady places. When you make contact with a criminal associate in order to exchange information, goods, or services, they can always get what you want, but the GM will choose 1 to 3 complications:

-They don’t know you and don’t trust you, you will need to prove yourself first.

-You last parted on bad terms, They’re as likely to want to kill you as do business.

-They won’t deal in currency, you will have to deal in information, goods or services.

-You know they’ll try to screw you over and leave you swinging if they get the chance.

-It’s very far away.

-It’s going to take a long time to get.

-The price is unfair, you’re going to have to bargain if you want better.

Custom move trigger ideas?

Custom move trigger ideas?

Custom move trigger ideas? (silly, serious, IC, OOC, etc.). Deanna Nygren and are I are currently signing all of the Grim World books. I could really use some more crazy ideas for custom move triggers.

I don’t need the full move (and would actually prefer not a full move). I just need a trigger like:

“When an ogre mistakes you for his backpack…”

“When a crimson moon rises in the sky…”

“When you run out of cheetos…”

They can be serious, or silly, or crazy. They can be moves you’d actually use in play or just fun ones to read.

Thanks! =)

So I was pleased to welcome back a couple of friends who’d not played DW for a while for a one-off game this evening.

I put together this character sheet for one of them. I think a few peeps have mentioned seeing #charactersheets  for one-off games here already – this is pretty close, and worked for me. (The 2nd page is the adventure starter that I read out to both players.) Shared as-is in the hopes it’ll be useful for players that just need a pick-up character. (We did do bonds and alignment, but I asked leading questions in play to establish these later. The player just scribbled them down along with XP and other notes.)

Hey #DungeonWorld fans, can you help me fine tune a move I’ve been pondering for our next game?

When you agree to trade a memory for an item from the fey peddler, remove 1XP and roll+INT. *On a 10+, you feel like you might have been better off without it anyway. *On a 7-9, you can’t think straight for a bit. Take  minus 1 to your next action. *On a 6 or less, you needed that thought or maybe he dug too deep. Things get dark quickly…

I made a small minigame for a transdimensional race that is happening this weekend. Feel free to use it if your like!

Satyr Bard: Whenever needed you can produce a bottle of intoxicating wine out of thin air, however it needs to be drank to the finish.

(can someone word that better?)

Satyr Cleric: Add glorious revelry to the petition of your religion.Â
