I couldn’t resist the Dungeon Starter transmogrification.

Like Joe Banner I’m still processing all the Dungeon World adventure feedback, which was excellent. While I hope to vary my production slate someday, I will always love this particular monster (All hail Marshall Miller!). Feedback, war stories, movie reviews are as always very welcome.

Special Qualities: Undead

A crypt thing is a kind of undead guardian that is built to watch over a particular site or object and deal with intruders in a nonlethal manner. The creature appears as nothing more unusual than a skeletal figure in tattered robes. When active, its eyes glow with a fierce red light. A crypt thing exists only to guard, and it typically watches over a religious treasure, tomb, or holy site. It normally waits in an alcove or on a chair provided for it. It speaks Common and is willing to converse with those that do not threaten it while it tries to scare away creatures it thinks are easily cowed.

Here’s an adventure that comes with a map! This is a simple, little Dungeon World conversion of the classic adventure location Stellarium of Vinteralf. I changed the Seal people to South Pole Walrus guys and added Marshall Miller’s Frozen South Starter to round it out. No reason you can’t do the same!

What is your single favorite Dungeon World “Adventure”?

What is your single favorite Dungeon World “Adventure”?

What is your single favorite Dungeon World “Adventure”? This could be an Adventure, Conversion, Dungeon Starter, Adventure Starter, etc. Why?

As an example I pick the overwhelming popular Indigo Galleon: https://0793590a-a-62cb3a1a-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/legacyjohnzocontent/indigo-galleon.pdf?attachauth=ANoY7cpxfFdsSlnlqxnBBO4VhkGxtjabLdfaUsPY8vvKT54Xwog

The reason is that if you put any more adventure on those few pages; then space-time itself might rupture

I recently posted an imperfect poll in which I attempted to classify current Dungeon world adventures as old versus new style. For old style I was thinking something like Slave Pit of Drazhu or my own early work. New style would be Perilous Deeps or Joe Banner’s excellent short adventures. The feedback I’ve gotten most often is the best Dungeon World module is Indigo Galleon; which seems to be in a class by itself. So Dungeon Tavern patrons what sort of adventures do you want? Dungeon Starters, short adventures, conversions,Perilous Deeps, Indigo Galleon 2 (John Aegard, I’m looking at you!) If we could agree on some formats it would help our hobby and I think Marshall Miller’s Dungeon Starters really work. What else does?
