I like to use “first” Items in my Campaigns.

I like to use “first” Items in my Campaigns. They are the first ever created version of something so everything else is merely a Shadow of their power. They are really rare and of course only one of each exist. Most of them are Powerful but also to Powerful to control for a long time.

the first Dagger (hand, finesse, ignores Armor, +1D10 Damage if used to backstab)

This Dagger is merely a sharp Flint with Leather wrapped around it. It absorbs any Blood that comes into contact with it.

Any Time you spill Blood with it Roll (no Mod)

10+ = You get +1 ongoing on Rolling the Spill Blood Roll until you Rest.

7-9 = You get a Bloodlust and have to attack again as soon as possible

6- = You have to kill the most powerful Person you see

i have some more of them if you like  but first this one 😉

So I really loved the items made by +Jeremy Strandberg and thought the concept was really cool.

So I really loved the items made by +Jeremy Strandberg and thought the concept was really cool. Especially going in line with the supplemental magic items released via DriveThruRpg. How magic has or can result in consequences, at least those really powerful ones.

So I created two of my own for my friends who just finished their first story/adventure arc, in their first D&D game ever. So I wanted to treat them with a really special item each. So they get to choose 1 out of 3, the last one being in similar fashion to Jeremy’s.

Land Pirate Hand Cannon

Tags: Messy, Forceful, Ammo(3), Ranged

This cannon may be used to step up a single damage die when used as a primary weapon, up to d10.

When you set yourself and unleash the cannon’s might, roll+str.

* On a 10+ – The Cannon’s Blast may hit multiple targets (who are close together), dealing the same total damage to each. Add 1d8 to your damage roll, then select the highest result between it and your base damage. Any weak, fragile, or easily destroyed inanimate object that you targeted is destroyed.

* On a 7-9 – As above, but select one from the following Malfunction List…

– Mark an Ammo, if the gun’s Ammo becomes exhausted, add the tag “depleted”. The cannon will no longer fire nor add any effects. It may be possible to charge the gun again. The GM will tell you how.

– The cannon becomes hot and difficult to handle. Add the Dangerous tag, and take -1 forward to using it until you can cool it off.

– You are knocked down

* On a 6- Select one from the Malfunction List, in addition to any other GM result.

A different type of artifact for #Stonetop : “gifts” from the gods. Considerably less sinister than some of the other artifacts I’ve done so far, but still dangerous to use.

When you command your spiders to craft something from their silk, roll+INT. On a 10+, choose two. On 7-9, choose one.

– The spiders works quickly

– They perform exactly as intended

– The silk is replenished quickly, do not take -1 to your next use
