So here’s some abilities I cooked up for a hand to hand combat kind of guy. There were so many had to settle on 6 abilities for one class but you could take anyone of them to multiclass or build your own archtype. Perfect for any martial artist, brawler, monk, mystic, boxer, wrestler, scoundrel or guy/gal who like to punch or kick or get up close in combat. I present my First Draft.

Fistfighters get Evasion as their skill. Choose two special abilities. 1Swipe (when rushing by, you may attempt to take something right out of someone’s hand). 2Vicious (you can strike armored opponents at weak points, dealing full damage and block/deflect weapons with your limbs). 3Lunge (Expose yourself to harm but deal 2x damage). 4 In control (Once a day, turn partial success into full success). 5Streetfighter

(+1 ongoing when your outnumbered, or outgunned). 6Elusive (-1d6 damage when focusing on defense over offense and are unarmed and unarmored)

Just in case, it’s for WOD but could be converted to DW pretty simply.

So here is my take on a craftsman, wanderer, all purpose character for World of Dungeons. Great if you want a character who doesn’t fit a common archtype.

Wanderers get Navigation as their skill. Choose two special abilities. 1Mend (Can attempt to repair tools, armor, weapons, or trinkets). 2Apothecary (You can make a salve, brew, or poison, describe it). 3Craftsman (You know and ply a common trade and carry the tools you need). 4Artefact/Trinket (You’ve found a special object in your travels. Say how you found it and choose a description. Artefact:. Strange, invaluable and powerful. Trinket: Many uses, easily portable, and no serious dangers.)

Orators get Insight as their skill. Choose two special abilities:. 1 War skald (when you galvanise a group to battle or action, all of you get +1 forward +1 armor and +1 damage for a short time). 2 Persuasive(You can try to alter someones beliefs or goals to your advantage). 3 Foresight (Roll 2d6 plus Int to discern what the future holds.) 4 Soothing tongue (you have the power to calm the savage heart and ease tension or strife)

One thing I’ve been thinking about why I love dungeon world is how it solves the problem of Hitpoint Mountain in two ways.

One, being fiction centered, diseases and poisons can’t be solved with rest or health potion. Debilities are cleared, but not scurvy or the plague.

Two, even in combat, if you get fried by a dragon, or stepped on by a giant, your probably dead. More subtly, bleeding out and imbedded arrow points, as well as infection, are slow and insidious killers.

Does anyone have tips on how to make a low magic world for DW (where magic is rare and subtle, but mystical and powerful.) Like Conan or LOTR. Something most don’t concern themselves with or comprehend. Thx for the help!

Does anyone know of a low magic or magic free substitute class for the wizard?

Does anyone know of a low magic or magic free substitute class for the wizard? I’ve been trying to make my own sage/scholar type but wouldn’t mind finding an already made one.

Hey guys I’ve finally decided to start my own World of Dungeons play by post game in a Google plus community if enough people are interested. I have a little experience as a DW GM and want to create a setting that the players will enjoy. If enough people are interested then I can start the community and begin setup with you.
