3 or 4 weeks ago I started thinking about making moves and class. Now I have a good idea of what I want and the start of my actual sheet. I’d like some feedback on what I have 🙂

Here’s my current description for the Soldier class:

‘They say wars are won by soldiers, but they have no idea what that really means. They say it, but they don’t understand. But you do. 

No matter what colors you wear, you’re a soldier. You’ve seen the clash of armies and smelled the rank stench of death. You’ve seen friends and foe alike hewn down and left for the carrion. You’ve sacrificed more than they can possibly understand, for reasons they can’t possibly comprehend. You are the line between your foes and everything you hold dear. While many have broken, you are still strong, be it for your country, your people, for honor, or for glory. War has changed you for good or for ill, but now, you are the master of it. You are the Soldier. ‘

First of all, Prodigy (and Master) say to reduce the level of the spell by one. Does this mean that it is reduced by 1 number (i.e. 3 to 2) or one spell tier (i.e. 3 to 1)? It seems to me like it should be the former, but I’m not sure.

Second, Empowered Magic and Greater Empowered magic. There’s a weird discrepancy between the two – Empowered magic gives the option of maximizing a spell’s effects, while Greater Empowered Magic gives the option of doubling them. Is this intentional? 

Finally, Expanded spellbook. This move lets you take a spell from ‘the spellbook of any class’. Does this just mean that Cleric spells or fair game? Or does it mean any magical ability from another class, like Arcane Art of Shapeshifting?

Not much time to talk, but I have here the first draft of Cross World, a cross-genre Dungeon World setting. I’d love comments of any flavor.

I’m particularly interested in what people think of the balance level of the new “Chromium Knight” class. Too powerful? Too weak? It’s supposed to be about equal to the Fighter or the Paladin, just with a more particular post-apocalyptic science fiction feel. And chrome.

I’m a huge mark for Indiana Jones, I admit. I’ve had the idea for a dungeon delving scholar for a while now, a sort of half rogue/half sage. I think what I have right now is a little unfocused, though I’m not sure what the best direction would be. What do you think, sirs?

Hey guys. I’ve got a player whose character passed away last session coming back as an intelligent gorilla druid. I figure that, as part of his wildshape, he can turn into a human (since they were around where he originates).

Anyway, I’m looking to create a good racial ability/move for him. Based on player request/demand, it more or less has to be called “Go Bananas”, and I’m thinking of taking something from the Barbarian, but I’m not sure what the right way to go is. Any ideas?

A player of mine chose The Immolator. I made a few changes to simplify playing the class (everything is roll+WIS now, start with dungeon rations instead of starting with adventure gear). However, I feel that some of the moves could be re-worded, removed, or other moves added to make the class better fit the player and world, and make it even more fun. 

I would love to hear others’ experiences with the class, and hear or see others’ customizations of it. Care to share?
