If you (like me) find clocks to be an essential part of running any game, you might like these clocks I made for running Dungeon World on Roll20. They follow the Blades in the Dark approach of 4, 6, 8 and 12 segment clocks.

Get the clocks here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1otgGi1cCqqfdtU_0ubUHpYIWtWLonhaW

You’ll want to set them up as a rollable token like so: https://wiki.roll20.net/Collections#Creating_a_Rollable_Table_Token (this will let you adjust the clock on the fly in play).

If you’re not familiar with clocks, this Medium post is a good overview: https://medium.com/@kwhitaker81/locked-clocked-and-ready-to-rock-c42ac20ffbd5

Do post a screenshot if you use them, I love seeing how people set up their games in Roll20.

Today, after my table, I was thinking about a random table to create book names in the same model as freebooters on the frontier did to create magic. What did you, guys, think about it?

I’ve had a food zine brewing (pun intended) on the backburner (also intended) for a good long while.

I’ve had a food zine brewing (pun intended) on the backburner (also intended) for a good long while. The most recent Food focused episode of “Play to Find Out” (a great DW podcast) finally kicked my butt into action to finally turn it into a zine!

So I’d love to crowdsource some ideas! Please take a moment to fill out this survey (all questions are optional! Answer only what you feel like.)

I’ve finished reading World Wide Wrestling a few days ago. It’s a good and interesting AWE game, but one thing that I really think I’ll “steal” is changing the approach to Bonds.

You see, instead just filling blanks, the Bonds there are formed by asking the other players. So, consider the Fighter Bonds:

____ owes me their life, whether they admit it or not.

I have sworn to protect _____.

I worry about the ability of ____ to survive the dungeon.

____ is soft, but I will make them hard like me.

Let’s turn this into questions:

Who owes me their life? There’s no need to admit it.

Who am I sworn to protect?

Who caused me to worry about their ability to survive a dungeon?

Who is soft to the point I decided to make them hard like me?

Changing the way the Bonds are created helps, IMHO, to make them care about it more. It’s not the Fighter player that decided that, but another player “accepted” that Bond as part of their story together. It was a voluntary choice.

What do you think?

Arcane Oozes resemble giant pale purple amoebas.Any arcane spell cast that causes damage is automatically absorbed to heal 1 point for every point of damage otherwise done. Cleric, bard and other”non arcane” spells affect the ooze normally. Arcane oozes are immune to poison, sleep effects and paralysis.

Quick question I saw elsewhere: “When a move offers choices (choose 2, for example), may the player choose the same option more than once?”

I’d say no, but I don’t remember any official rulings about it.
