Hello there!

Hello there!

Hello there!

I am running a one shot this Sunday, August 31st, 3pm Pacific (UTC-8). NEWBIES ARE WELCOME – I am a kind and patient GM and happy to teach you the ropes of both Dungeon World and roleplaying. If you wish to join me, please PM me your email. We play in Google Hangouts and Roll20. You need headphones/microphone and webcam.

Here is my GM resume and what I am looking for:

I am realizing that I need some filled out character sheets for one shots because too much time is being spent on character creation. Does anyone have character sheets already filled out that they can share? Just thought I would ask here before making them all myself.

I saw this amazing “Tabletop Gaming…

I saw this amazing “Tabletop Gaming Résumé”(http://www.reddit.com/r/lfg/comments/2eobxt/lfg_online_or_offline_my_tabletop_gaming_r%C3%A9sum%C3%A9/) on Reddit yesterday and it gave me a great idea – a kind of poster that I can use when I am looking for players. A summary of my GMing style, what players need to play and the Dungeon World system. So what do you think?

P.S. I would post details like time and date in the message so I can use this whenever I am doing a one shot or a new campaign.

ONE SHOT TIME!

You do not need to read those above! All you need is a willingness to learn and IMAGINATION!

Roleplay gaming is a collaborative storytelling tool! It is fun to create stories and play to see what happens!

Our Sunday Women Campaign’s Roll20 Landing Page.

Our Sunday Women Campaign’s Roll20 Landing Page.

Our Sunday Women Campaign’s Roll20 Landing Page. This is what the players see each week when we log in to play. We start and end each session on this page.

Following DWs wise advice, I randomly generated this map and then filled out only what we had decided last week. The rest is blank, ready for our fertile imaginations to fill out. The players named everything and decided everything as to location. All I did was generate a map to fit and label it. The players also name the NPCs as we go along.

In Roll20, they have their tokens on this page and I have a YOU ARE HERE token showing where they currently are on the map.

So much fun!

Roleplay points~

Roleplay points~

Roleplay points~

This is a concept I’ve come up with that seem to be working well so far. I award RP points when the player/character has roleplayed really well/deeply, come up with a very creative solution to a problem, really gotten into the spirit and acted out their characters move, wrote a great backstory for their character, etc.

The player keeps track of their points in Roll20. I do not give them out willy-nilly, they have to be earned.

Then the player can spend their points in three ways:

1. Roll Twice and take the highest/lowest roll (depending on what you are rolling for.)

2. Take +1 forward on your next roll.

3. GM Choice: I will give the character a way to make their situation a little bit better, by perhaps giving them an item, or having their god whisper necessary information or perhaps putting just what they need (but may not have thought of) in their adventuring bag.

I’ve awarded points already and it is fun to watch the players try and decide if they want to use a precious RP point to help out in their current predicament!
