Magic Items round 2!

Been thinking about a sword that is made of a “damascus” style sword made of layers of different metals folded into patterns, that was already of pretty good quality when it was introduced into the highly (magically) acidic environment that it has been residing in for about a thousand years. I’m looking to make it on par with That Sword that is not Excalibur in DW Core. Something like When you hack and slash with [the sword], on a 12+ you deal +1d6 damage without exposing yourself to the enemy’s attack, This attack may be treated as the more beneficial of an acid or poison attack. So the idea is that the sword has corroded some due to the environment. Maybe it can be corroded to the point of being a dagger instead?

So, what I ask of you, fellow tavern goers, is “What would you name a sword or dagger with the above properties?”

Someone in a thread about a Parley/reactions started by Jeremy Strandberg mentioned something to the effect of “keep them talking while I pickpocket”, and I was wondering what people thought about the ramifications of “use up their resources” coming from something like “Someone has lost something. Who and what was it?”

So Brian Holland (who I can’t tag because his picture isn’t coming up) helped me out with “A Whole Damn Army” and gave me some ideas to expand on it in ways relevant to my existing Mass Combat rules. This is the fruits of that labor:

Working on my “Into the Heart of the Dragon” campaign (haven’t started yet) and I’ve had planned for a while, a jade orb planted in the middle of the town of Gullet that prevents certain environmental hazards from entering the area. Trouble is, I can’t think of a name. Anyone got any ideas?

So I did another thing based on the houserules I posted for Mass Combat on my blogspot.

So someone brought up Suddenly Ogres, and I sparked on an idea to create a character using Class Warfare’s Destroyer, Slayer and Strongarm to create an Ogre. Problem is, all the racial benefits are… racial. Someone somewhere reskinned racial starting moves as backgrounds, but I can’t for the life of me remember who it was or where I might find something like that… any ideas?

I have seen debilities ran one of two ways:

1) They make the relevant modifier -1

2) They reduce the relevant modifier by -1

I’ve never been too picky about how a GM runs it, but I’ve always thought they make the relevant modifier -1. Has anyone else gotten this impression, or any other I haven’t listed?

So I’ve been thinking a good deal about Dragon Age Inquisition, more specifically, their Power stat, and War Table operations. I have also been thinking about the Merchant from Class Warfare, and how they have business ventures. I gave a visual novel archetype called Ojou that ability, which I renamed Zaibatsu. I changed up some minor details, but I was thinking also that it would be an interesting optional rule to include provisions for large scale “corporate warfare”. Like scaled way above what The Sprawl does, and also kind of in keeping with Dragon Age Inquisition’s Power mechanic (spend power in the board room to do corporate missions, which may unlock small scale personal missions). I already have an exchange rate of 500 yen=1 DW Coin. I have expanded on Inverse World’s Stress mechanic because I thought it would be cool to stat out buildings individually for the purposes of Mecha. The Miko and Ojou have Havens (like in Monster of the week) and those are equivalent to 5-8 stress from Inverse World. I was thinking that I want Power to match up where one such haven is about 1 Power, and also have ventures be worth a particular power value. Anybody got any ideas for this?
