If you’re a fan of DW, I recommend checking out the free RPG Mythender.  It’s got a lot of similar collaborative storytelling combat fun of DW, turned up to 11.  It’s also got some crazy awesome mechanics for slaying gods.

How many people use weapon ranges in their combat fiction?

How many people use weapon ranges in their combat fiction?  Can you give me some examples of how you do it?  I keep thinking there’s a lot of fictional fun and mayhem there, but am having some trouble incorporating it.

This is amazing.

This is amazing.

This is amazing.  I printed these out and assembled these booklets last night.  I can’t believe I’ve been running DW without this.  All of the important items you need to look-up (minus the monsters) are contained in a handy stapled booklet.  It includes:

+  COMPLETE tag reference…OMG so handy!

+  Equipment costs and stats (including weapons and armor)

+  GM Principles and Moves

+  Monster generation rules

+  4 Front record sheets

+  Copious space for campaign notes

+  100 Knacks and 100 Characteristics for NPCs

Do not run DW without this!  All for the low-low price of FREE!  🙂  +Michael Wright, you are a genius.

I hope they are useful (and legible) to everyone.

I’m a huge fan of the intro blurbs on pages 6 to 9.

Finally finished putting together my customized DungeonWorld character sheets that I’ll be using for the adventures I’m running for my brother and his friends. It didn’t take long for them to want to start taking moves from other classes…so I figured having these little half-sheet (5.5×8.5″) character sheets, with the right Moves sections stapled together would be a bit easier than flipping through several pages of unrelated information. And when they take advanced moves? They can staple that on as well.

And here’s a 2-up version (on 8.5×11″), for those of you who can’t normally step and repeat PDF documents at home.

I’ve been pondering the 16-hp dragon recently, and thinking about the “+messy” tag for monsters.  I ran Jason Morningstar’s Slave Pits adventure recently, and the PCs ran into the plant with the +messy tag.  The first player it hit, it shredded the clothes off their leg.  The second player it hit, it gashed and disabled their hand.

Any other thought about how to play the +messy tag when used against the PCs?  A range of +messy monster/situation ideas would be useful.
