I’m so in love with the “loose, but inspiring” adventure prep that Fronts provides that I’m working on different Dangers for a dramatic game.  Here’s my first two new Danger types for Hillfolk/DramaSystem:

Danger:  Search For Meaning

• Danger Type:  Big Reveal

• Impulse: to cause the character to question their origin

• Grim Portents:   Pick 3 or 5

• GM Moves for Big Reveal

o A shocking clue from the past is discovered –

o Primary is being shadowed by a mysterious person

o Primary has a soliloquy, questioning her place in the world.

o New turbulent elements are introduced into established relationships (romantic love, jealousy, distrust)

o There is a duel between two people involved in the secret

o A person from the secretive past shows up

o Something dire happens to a loved one

o Black carriages race through full moonlight

Danger: True Love

• Danger Type: Romantic Entanglement

• Impulse: to complicate the lovers’ lives

• Grim Portents:  Pick 3 or 5

• GM Moves for True Love

o Lover’s group (family/tribe) tells lover to stay the hell away

o One lover stumbles on the another lovely person bathing

o Authority tells you that you have to marry someone else

o Tryst where lovers meet and are discovered

o One lover is to take an oath of celibacy

o A rival warns off one of the lovers

o A rival presents an extravagant gift

o One lover asks a dangerous boon of the other

  1. Those are awesome!

Primetime Adventures has some pretty interesting ideas for that type of a game.

Including: Screen Time, number of “episodes”, and Story Arcs.

These seem like they might fit well together…
