Oh yes. Time for psionics part 2.

I had the same thoughts about the Emotional Catalyst like i had with the Rager. Why not make the options something you can do directly – like a shapeshifting Druid.

This is the old move and the advanced move belonging to it:

Inspiring Aura

When you concentrate on your allies and invigorate their positive emotions

roll +WIS on a 10+ you hold 3 on a  7-9 you hold 1

You can spend your hold 1 for 1 to activate one of the following auras.

Courage: When your allies Defend, they get additional 1 hold

Loyalty: When an ally Aids another they give +2 instead of +1 but can’t interfere anymore

Kindness: All of your hirelings gain +1 loyalty

Hope: Your allies can’t be affected by fear, magical or mundane

Lead By Example

Each of your auras has a particular action associated with it. When you perform that action while the corresponding aura is active, gain 1 hold for Inspiring Aura:

– Aura of Courage: Defend the weak

– Aura of Loyalty: Aid a friend

– Aura of Kindness: Parley with someone who doesn’t already trust you

– Aura of Hope: Defy Danger against fear

I think lead by example is okay as it is.

I need help with

Inspiring Aura#shapeshifting

When you concentrate on your allies and invigorate their positive emotions, choose an aura and roll +WIS on a 10+ you hold 3 on a  7-9 you hold 2(!)

Your allies can spend your hold 1 for 1 on an effect related to the aura

Courage – Redirect an attack from a nearby ally to yourself

Kindness –

Loyalty –

Hope – resist a fear effect, magical or mundane

Do you have any ideas or feedback?

What is the better type move for a Sith Battlerager type character (only that he is not Sith but Psionic…)

Psionic Rage#mechanical

When you cry out in fury and unleash your Rage roll+CON

On a 10+ you hold 3  on a 7-9 you hold 2. You can spend hold 1 for 1 to

– Give one of your attacks the forceful tag

– Do +1d4 damage forward

– frighten an enemy you engage for a moment

Psionic Rage#Shapeshifting

When you cry out in fury and unleash your Rage roll+CON

On a 10+ you hold 3  on a 7-9 you hold 2. You can spend hold 1 for 1 to

– Close the distance between you and an enemy in a heartbeat

– Knock an enemies weapon across the room

– Throw your weapon, no matter it’s size, at someone

– Frighten an enemy you engage for a moment

The options on the second move aren’t final, just some ideas to show my problem.

A character has potentially bound herself with a powerful entity.

A character has potentially bound herself with a powerful entity. Specifically, Malini, a sort of Bacchus as avatar of an chaos deity. Giving this connection mechanical weight seems like a good fit for a compendium class.

Looking around at the creations of others, nothing leapt out as good fits, but there is a good chance I’m overlooking many.  Are there any relevant compendium classes that I might use directly or borrow parts from?

I’ve started drafting up a compendium class. The moves I have seem interesting and hopefully tempting to me.  I would welcome feedback on what I have.

A fighter against they typical monsters of the night. Perfect for Innistrad and Ravenloft games. Also works verry well with the Inverse World Survivor. I hope it’s okay i used the Scar mechanic…

Any feedback?

This one basically wrote itself in one swoop. Only Lift the curse was added later. I am not happy with the name right now.

So I am an expert with neither page design nor Dungeon World. I generally don’t like theorycrafting, and having not played DW, I’m reticent to share my creations. However, I’d like to get the layout set up for my Grim Portents 3 submissions. As such, here is my first Compendium Class (not for GP3). Hacked the layout from the official DW character sheets.

The idea is that the GM / player can read the fluff on the left to get a sense of the CC. However, once they hand it off to the player, some of that fluff becomes irrelevant, so the player can cut the right side off an append it to their playbook. Thoughts and feedback (on the layout more than the CC design, though both are welcome) greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The Assassin (CC edition)

When you have taken a life in exchange for financial reward, you may take the following move when you next level up:

Contract Killer

When you have downtime and put out word that you’re looking to take on a contract, roll +Int. On a hit, someone approaches you with a job – they’ll give you a name and maybe a description. Roll 2d6: that’s what the job is worth to them, in tens of coins; take it or leave it. On a 7-9, the job has strings attached – they want you to kill the target in a specific way or place, by a specific time, etc. If you fail to complete a contract, take -1 ongoing to Contract Killer until you prove your worth again.

Once you’ve taken Contract Killer, the following moves count as class moves for you; in addition to your normal list of moves, you may choose from this list when you level up:

Stakeout

When you spend several hours scoping out a place, person or situation, you can Discern Realities with +Int and add the following question to your list of choices:

– what would be the most opportune moment to strike?

Ill Repute

When you put out word that you’re looking to take on a contract and get offered a job, their offer is double your roll.

Requiescat in Pace

When you fake a death – either yours or someone else’s – roll+Int. On a 10+, the evidence you planted is foolproof – everyone will believe you or the person you’re helping have died, and no one will go looking. On a 7-9, the staged death is sloppy and unconvincing, and won’t stand up to rigorous inspection – although it looks convincing at first.

The Professional

Replaces: Ill Repute

When you put out word that you’re looking to take on a contract and get offered a job, name your price. If they can afford it, they’ll pay.

Nearly all of these sprung from events in our campaign or from my players’ desires for their character. Critiques are welcome (although some of these are already in play for our group). I will keep tweaks and additions updated in the comments.

The Promethean

When you steal something from a god, you qualify for the Lightning Thief move.

Lightning Thief

Whatever you stole from the Gods is your artefact, be it Ao’s Lightning, Grexivor’s Forge Hammer, or Hypalia’s Blessed Girdle, or something else.

When you try to solve a problem or overcome a challenge by using your stolen holy artefact in an inventive way, roll +CHA. On a 10+ you do it, no problem. On a 7-9, chose one of the following.

• Your power over artifacts is dulled, take -1 ongoing on this move until you Make Camp

• Your meddling draws unwanted attention

• The artefact’s powers are temporarily spent. It may still have some innate power, but you cannot bend it to your will until you Make Camp

Once you’ve taken Lightning Thief, the following moves count as class moves for you.

Holy Hoarder

You can use your Lightning Thief move on any artifact you received through generosity or larceny, not just the first one you stole.

Beyond Devious

Your attempts at duplicity, stealth, larceny and other deviousness will work against even magic or godly influence that would otherwise be inescapable – you can hide from the gaze of a god, lie through a truth spell, even steal an object bound to its owner. They might not always work, but you can always at least try.

Eternal Torment

When you would take your Last Breath due to a grievous wound, instead you will automatically recover after a day of crippling, incapacitating agony, and roll +CON. On a 10+, take a debility of your choice. On a 7-9 take two debilities of the GM’s choice.
