Thought I shared this before, but I guess i didn’t. Was fooling around with the ranger chassis after watching the Game of Thrones premier. Super Duper rough, and I may not ever return to unless I get it in my head to write a GoT playbook set, but an example of what you can build in DW with existing moves as a base.

Comments or derision are equally welcome, go nuts

I figured it would probably be a good idea to write up a preview edition for The Cultist and the Dashing Hero, so people could look before they buy, so to speak. In fact, you could definitely roll with a preview version for a couple levels, before you even buy – all of the starting information is there, as well as a couple of the more interesting advances.

You can find these playbooks on my DTRPG account, here: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=4996

Also, I’ll be releasing another playbook fairly soon, as soon as I get the art for the cover. Have you ever wanted to brew potions of your own design, have a portable library of magical books, and fly on a broomstick? Well. I might be able to scratch that itch for you.

As promised a couple of weeks ago, here’s the character-sheeted version of the Shaman, with a few final tweaks.

Layout is courtesy of Jacob Randolph (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=4996, he did the Mage and other things), so thanks to him.

colin roald: I couldn’t change All Things Past to a move requiring a roll due to space constraints on the sheet, but I made it more interesting anyway.

Any feedback is welcome, as usual. I’ll be sending out an email with the update to people who bought it on DTRPG later this weekend.

Remember to download it for best viewing, as Google Docs really doesn’t like the sheets for some reason.

edit: just had it pointed out to me that I should probably link to the DTRPG version as well (I’m terrible at self-promotion): http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/108593/The-Shaman—A-Dungeon-World-compatible-class

The Shaman is and Ghost Warrior are CC-BY-SA.

Some of you may remember a few months back when I released the Spellslinger, a new class for public distribution.

These are landscape, pdf forms.  Currently there is a blank, Bard and Thief.  The bard and thief sheets were made from the blank sheet almost entirely in Adobe Reader except for the radio buttons/checkboxes for the moves you have to do that in Acrobat Pro or some other pdf editor that will create/edit forms.  Also you can’t set fields to read only in reader.

The comments were a bit of a hack job, but I just couldn’t come up with a design for those items that would fit in the space like I did for the class specific equipment/bond choices.

Regardless here is the link.  Any critiques/questions are welcome.

So, looking to build a classic warrior/mage class for an elf like it was in original D&D, who goes in melee and casts wizard spells from the first level (I’m converting a DCC game to DW). I was thinking to use the fighter stats, minus the signature weapon and bend bars, lift gates (lol that’s actually a very big minus), plus all the spellcasting moves of a wizard, maybe reduced in some way (less spells known and less spell slots available).

edit: forgot to add: so, what do you guys think about this?

The following are the starting moves for a new class, the Veteran, intended as one of two Fighter-replacements in my somewhat-less-violent Dungeon World hack, Adventure World. The Veteran is the world-weary warrior that has seen everything, and is willing to fight and die for what she believes in, even if that means going where no-one else is willing. Feedback and critique encouraged.

Scars

You have a deep Scar, both a burden you cannot share and a reminder of what you fight for. Choose a location for the Scar:

-Leg

-Arm

-Eye

-Heart

-Soul

-Emotions

And choose a Cause worth fighting for:

-Home

-Love

-Peace

-Money

-Victory

-Power

You take -1 ongoing to any action using the scarred location unless that action is dedicated to your Cause.

Familiar Faces

When you stand in opposition to a familiar foe, whether an individual or broader group, recount a previous encounter with them and roll+Wis. *On a 10+, hold 3. *On a 7-9, hold 1. Spend hold 1 for 1 at any time to do one of the following:

-Recall a previously unknown weakness or strength of the foe.

-Repell, resist, or endure a action that foe makes against you.

-Give you or an ally +1 foward to a roll made against that foe.

-Put the foe right where you want it.

Seen it All

When you end up in a dangerous situation that reminds you of a past adventure, recount how and roll+Wis. *On a 10+, choose 2. *On a 7-9, choose 1. On a miss, something is different enough this time to make your experience unhelpful or even dangerous.

-You’ve prepared for this day. Explain how.

-A mistake has been made. Explain what it is and why this makes the situation less dangerous.

-There are several things in the immediate environment that you could use to your advantage. Describe them.

Never Stop

When you fail to Withstand a Blow or would otherwise be rendered helpless while fighting for your Cause, you may grit your teeth and ignore the negative effects. If you do, take -1 ongoing until you see to the original impairment.

Hi there.

Hi there.

Hi there.

I’m working on running a DW campaign with my rpg group.

Since we play in German, I am currently working on a German translation of the most commonly used DW terms (moves, classes and so on).

Also, I would very much like to use a German-language character sheet. Since I am not very experienced in Graphic design, but have seen some wonderful sheets on the web, I just wanted to aks if anybody here could direct me to a link where I can download a sheet as a .wpd (or similar) file. That would make it much easier for me to produce a german-language sheet since I would only have to translate the terms without having to create a new sheet from scratch.

Ordinarily I’m the DM but this weekend at Gamestorm I got to actually play Dungeon World three times.

Let me tell you, true believers, how the Druid rocks the casbah.  Your shapeshifting move made you a Green Lantern with antlers at first level, but when you level up and you get Elemental Mastery your mayhem potential will go geometric.

I got away with using EM to collapse an entire dungeon around us today.  Tho looking back I think that pushing that move that hard is kind of like playing chicken with the DM…
