The Blessed, the druid/magician/shaman class for #Stonetop.

I put this playbook up a while back, but had two versions (one with a “spell list” and the other more-or-less like this), but couldn’t decide which I liked better for a long time. Now that I’ve got the Seeker worked out, and the idea of minor arcana as spells, this version definitely seems like the way to go.

They have a lot of potential magic, but I’m particularly fond of the idea that the magic mostly needs to be prepped in advanced but the player doesn’t actually roll for the move until its tested.

As always, feedback and criticism appreciated.

And, finally: here’s the Seeker, the last (?) of the #Stonetop playbooks.

This has been in the works for a long, long time. I needed to flesh out how I wanted artifacts and spells and magic items to work, and then how I wanted this class to work with them.

What it ended up as is a class that’s all about knowing, and learning, and using the things they find.

Feedback most definitely appreciated.

The Bard’s Charming and Open says “When you speak frankly with someone, you can ask their player a question from the list below” (emphasis mine).

In this case is the GM also a “player” so that this applies to NPCs? Or does this move only apply to PCs?

We’ve been playing it like the former.

“Kid, this isn’t a job to take care of nature nor to guide a lost fellow back to safety.

“Kid, this isn’t a job to take care of nature nor to guide a lost fellow back to safety. A hunter picks or is given a target and with keen eyes it tracks it down, with cunning it lures it, and with a well placed trap it captures it. Now, pack your bags and fetch that crossbow, kid, we’ve got a beast to catch! ”

The Thief has always been one of my favorite classes, but DW’s Thief playbook didn’t really do it for me. A lot of the base playbooks suffer from the “+1 forward” syndrome, and there are a lot of combos that can make the PCs invincible or capable of dealing insane damage. So I tried a little “remix” of the Thief playbook, just to test the waters. If this is popular, I may do some others.

I recently recreated my Wild Mage playbook from long ago and gave it a proper Dungeon World look and a lot of improvements. It is meant to be played with any list of random Wild Surges, such as: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byppa832YATUYjdrZTAyLWNheGc/view?usp=sharing

I would appreciate help with any formatting or grammar issues as well as input on how the playbook functions as a whole.

Been listening to some great noir books lately, and was thinking that the paladin might play out well as an empowered detective working for inscrutable spirits. Of course you’d need buy in from the group, but it might be a good way to veer the class away from the sanctimonious school marm role that it often defaults to. Any thoughts? The playbook moves seem to line up pretty well for a Felix Castor/ City and the City style magical noir.

Behold, the Merchant-Adventurer!

Behold, the Merchant-Adventurer!

Behold, the Merchant-Adventurer!  A new class I worked up, basically untested.  It should have the option of playing in a few different ways:  as a medieval-ish take on the Apocalypse World Operator, or as a pirate captain, or as a fast-talking rogue with lots of options on Parley.

A couple non-standard notes:  the “Races” are cultures from my game world, since I find the standard Dwarf/Elf/Halfling kind of boring.  But you could easily relabel them if you like.  Also, I have “Ambition” instead of Bonds, because Bonds never really did much for us.  We just declared that Aid/Interfere is always rolled at +1 (because pretty much it was), and required everyone to declare a specific Ambition for their character.  Any session in which you do something (pretty much anything) that in some way advances you toward your Ambition, +1 xp in the End of Session move.

Otherwise, my goal is for this to be reasonably balanced against the standard classes.  Comment welcome (and definitely let me know if you play it, how it goes).
