I am curious what the most interesting Gods were which you or someone else you played with invented for his Cleric/Ranger/Paladin ect.

The most fun God by far is from a player in the current Campaign. He calls him “der Flausch” (German game. translated “The Fluff”) and he is the manifestation of everything fluffy or furry.

oh.. and he plays a dwarf ^^ its just great fun. Everything he casts a spell something fluffy appears, for example when he heals they get a fur where the cut used to be ^^

This idea came from Jeremy Strandberg’s Would-Be Hero, and I tried expanding it into a more defensive/avenging riff on the Paladin. I’m not crazy about the result; there’s too many mechanical moves and too few fictional moves. I’d like to swap some of the former for the latter, if anyone wants to offer suggestions.

The oracle was already being uploaded. The third eye move will receive an update later on tonight in the form of a note based on the suggestions given by John Alexander and Martijn “Helicity Boson” Vellinger. Credit section of the playbook will be updated accordingly.

We are going to hold another poll soon.

Besides the Cleric and the Therianthrope, what other kinds of classes would you like to see and we may add it into the poll! I might suggest Beast Master/Trainer again.

Someone on reddit posted questions about the Firebender base move… Zuka… No, Zuko Style. I decided to write two little moves that were terrible versions of advanced moves that I wanted your thoughts on. Too powerful? Unbalanced? Removes utility of other moves?

Melisandre stared intently at the bonfire where the heretics screamed in agony. “I command the flames to show me the shape and form of the man is Azor Ahai, the Prince that was Promised, the one who will destroy the Others…” She frowned. Before it had shown her King Stannis with Lightbringer, but now all it showed was snow…

(Lore of Flames with an evil sacrifice for a weak bonus: if you burn an unwilling creature alive, you can ask the creature one question before it dies. The flames will take its form and it will nod, shake its head, gesture/point/pantomime in a meaningful and truthful fashion.)

(Alternately, sacrificing a useful object like a book of maps and saying “I command the flames to point in the direction of the treasure we most desire!” could be a way to get the flames to take form and move as you desire as long as they have fuel…)

Beric Dondarrion stopped dancing the hempen jig long ago. He now dangled loosely from the hangman’s noose tight around his neck. Thoros hiccuped and swiped in the air several times with his burning sword, eventually cutting his companion down to the ground. He took a swig of firebrandy and imbued it with the flames of the Last Rites. He pressed his lips to Beric’s and breathed out with cleansing fire to send him to the Red God. However, to Thoros’ surprise, Beric lurched upwards, stepping back from Death’s Door, somehow imbued by the Last Kiss! Thoros could tell that a part of Beric was consumed as kindling, his second chance at life being fueled by a loss of humanity and a loss of his memories…

(Ogdru Jahad/Burning Bridges move with severe and twisted consequences that the players won’t like: you can save a comrade from Death’s Door but they lose all bonds, all advanced moves, and no longer gain XP.)

Thoughts?

I was thinking today after watching the beginnings of a Dungeon World one shot that was GM’d by Adam Koebel, that it would be cool to play a Bard whose talent and performance were in oratory and writing. Basically play him as a revolutionary, a town crier, and pamphleteer.

Went to a D&D5e expedition to keep a friend company.  We both disliked it.  It inspired me to set up a game next week with him and a couple of new-to-gaming buddies during which I’ll run DW.

I loved the blurbs for each class from the playtest foldouts (and which now head the sections in the final book).  I want to spread those around the group and use them to have the players narrow down which to play.  We can discuss with the group and THEN hand out character sheets once we have worked out a lot of the dynamics.  Sadly, the barbarian just starts with elements, no blurb.  I could dummy up a flavor text halfway between “the lamentations of their women” and the druid’s already-pretty-similar text, but my dynamic writing is not as good as Sage’s.  Does anyone have a good blurb for the barbarian that they have used?

Hello, Tavern!

Hello, Tavern!

Hello, Tavern! I’ve thrown a few versions of my sorcerer playbook up over the last year, so this isn’t totally new — but I have done another round of extensive tweaking and polish. I threw it up on DriveThruRPG (for free) as a way to keep it in one spot.

The latest changes do two things: reduce the reliance on vanilla hireling rules in favor of simpler commands for familiars; and approach the design as a trio of Class Warfare-style specialties, which keeps the class from feeling one-trick-pony.

I’m usually the DM for my Dungeon World games so I still haven’t gotten a chance to play this, but I’d love to hear any feedback.
