Has anybody come up with a simply: DW style chart or method for Wild Surges to go along with the Wild Mage?  I feel that the Wild Surge should be more of a custom Move for the GM rather than a chart.  It would be more in keeping with the style of the game.  I did find the 10,000 Wild Surges but I don’t want to print out 85 pages of stuff for one character.  I would like a more coherent document that can be used in the style of DW.  Is anybody up for the challenge?

The Druid’s “Shapeshifter” move seems really super powerful – pretty much any land a druid chooses will contain animals that can allow them to:

* Shapeshift into something dangerous (e.g. a bear)

* Shapeshift into something small/stealthy (e.g. a rat)

* Shapeshift into something airborne (e.g. a hawk)

This allows them to dominate combat, stealth, scouting/recon… I’ve had a druid player use it for all these things in a single session, which I feel may have made some of the other party members feel a little disenfranchised.

How do you go about limiting the move, or am I playing it wrong? One thing I’m not sure about is the move(s) that the GM creates for their new form. I would always base it around what the player was aiming to achieve by shapeshifting, but I never made it a fully defined move (no roll, no 10+/7-9, etc) – just a thing that the player could do a limited amount of times in their new form.

This is a more “classical” take on the Barbarian.

This is a more “classical” take on the Barbarian. You are a savage warrior in tune with the wilderness, the primal spirits and your own wild nature. You wreck havoc with your savage attacks leaving your enemies in terror as you charge from foe to foe. The spirits lend energy to your rages and also hone your primal instincts, making you a devastating force on the battlefield but also a survivor of the wilds.

Holy crap, i have a HUGE amount of respect for folks actually putting together a bundle of classes for people to play with after making this! Behold, the fruits of three days of coffee and head-scratching; the Stone Brawler!

I wanted it to feel unique from the other classes and to fill a role as more of a support-bruiser, stronger than a magic user but squishier than a predominantly fighter-type class. I feel like i achieved it with the Earth Table, it’s a cute gimmick that benefits everyone; so long as you’re willing to take the -1 to make your skills Ongoing! :p

Feedback is much appreciated, ESPECIALLY critique!

So, I enjoy using Dungeon World for one-off games.

So, I enjoy using Dungeon World for one-off games.

So, I enjoy using Dungeon World for one-off games. And I often have a lot of players who are new to DW, or even to roleplay in general. So I’ve thrown together some one-page versions of the playbooks (does that make them playsheets?), slightly modified to make it easier to use for one-offs.

All advanced moves and the like have been removed, the same goes for some time-consuming stuff as spell selection and preparation. Bonds have been replaced with party connections, basically to make sure a one-off party has some cohesion. Added quite a few questions meant to make sure characters have some basic background as well. It seems to work quite well. Some classes have been rewritten quite a lot, others less.

Sharing in case it’s useful for anyone else, or in case someone has any good ideas for improvement. 😉

In a world full of adventures, it is vital to know where, who, and how to get the information you need. Pulling favors from contacts, greasing palms, securing information, and gambling are all parts of your repertoire of skills but it doesn’t stop there. All that time spent in the underbelly of cities dealing with all the scum and villainy has thought you that in order to survive the urban jungle, you must learn how to read people quickly and turn any dire situation in your favor.

Feinting and applying cheap tricks are also your specialty; sometimes charms and looks wont save your hide from a sticky situation but a well placed dagger might.
