I’m very proud of my involvement with this project. What Jason is too polite to say in his post on his site is he did a wonderful job in revising my work to the point that several of my starters (unlike Miller’s) have been essentially rewritten to the point of being almost new to fit his high standards. Jason’s products are simply some of the the best supplements in general you will find for Dungeon World and I am very pleased beyond measure he found something worthwhile in my efforts for the hobby. This has been a very dark year for me personally and his updates on this project along with his inspired revisions always made me smile. I hope this little collection of Dungeon Starters will make you smile as well-

Here’s Jason:

20 DUNGEON STARTERS

One side project I’ve been chipping away at for close to a year is this collection of dungeon starters, which just went live on DriveThruRPG. It contains 5 starters by Marshall Miller and 15 by Mark Tygart, all edited and updated from their original forms.

The original versions of these starters are still online and available for free! There are no plans for that to change.

So why collect them and charge money? I wanted to put the best of the bunch in one convenient pdf, with a consistent design and editorial standard. That took a surprising amount of time and effort!

So I’m charging $5. That’s 25 cents per starter — seems like a decent deal to me.

The small region of Sulindal has been in relative peace for over three centuries. The steadings of the region all worked with each other, one in particular, the dwarves of Smitheim defended the region from the horrors that creep from the depths of the Grytfell mountains. One of such horrors is Ugothos, it appeared long ago emerging from a meteorite that fell on the mountain near the area now known as the Grytt Crater. The dwarves managed to seal it then a few days back another meteorite fell which released Uguthos, the dwarves failed to seal him again and fearing the madness and corrupting Uguthos brought would spread through the water, they closed the dams they controlled which gave water to most of the steadings of the region. Its been now 5 days since the dams were closed and no one knows why. To make things worse, it hasn’t rained a single inch either (even when magically induced) and wells are drying out one by one. The adventurers come into the region to investigate what is going on, discover the Uguthos danger, find a way to reseal the creature and save the region (and the world) from succumbing to its corruption.

Hi, my D&D group recently converted to the Dungeon World ruleset and we are loving it. I keep the notes from each game and write them up for the group. I recently got to thinking that others may enjoy our story as well so I started a blog and will continue the story weekly. I called the blog Dungeon World Adventures. Let me know what you think of the idea. Thanks for looking.
