Out of curiosity, anyone got any ideas how to make the Sword of Truth wielded by Richard Rahl in the series so named for the sword by Terry Goodkind?

Here is an almost finished Artificer class that I’ve been working on for a few weeks and many hours now (with plenty of help from Yochai Gal, Muggins AU, and many others) . Originally made for Worlds of Adventure hack.

I wanted to make an Artificer class that wasn’t designed to drive the player to steampunk superhero, mad bomber gnome, etc., but instead allowed the player to be as inventive and creative as a magical inventor should be! While players can choose the specialties of Machinist, Alchemist, and Enchanter, they are free to make any kind of creation they want. (with GM fiat to require additional pre-requisites for the super-powerful creations).

I wanted the creation and usage of their gadgets to be core of the class, but I also wanted to help the player envision what a genius inventor in a fantasy world could be capable of, hence the “Child of the Renaissance” move. Please let me know what you think!

Thirst Poppet

Thirst Poppet

Thirst Poppet

A little rag doll that contains a piece of a sea sponge.

You may attune to a Thirst Poppet by giving it a few drops of your blood.

When you are attuned to a Thirst Poppet

– Whatever you drink will be absorbed by the poppet. You are safe from poisons and diseases in your drink and you will be unable get drunk by drinking alcohol.

– Whatever the Thirst Poppet absorbs will affect you. If you keep it in water you’ll never need to drink water. If it dries out you will start to die of dehydration. If it absorbs poison you will be poisoned. If you keep it in a beer barrel you will remain drunk until you die of alcohol poisoning.

If the poppet is destroyed you lose half your current HP. Round up.

*Blood Drop Gems*

*Blood Drop Gems*

*Blood Drop Gems*

These scarlet gems are shaped as water drops and infused with the concentrated blood of many beings.

Each gem contains d6 HPs and vary in size from a dime to a grapefruit depending on how many HP they contain.

*When you are reduced to 0 HPs* any Blood Drop Gems on your person will crumble to powder and grant you that many HP.

*When your life is preserved by a Blood Drop Gem* you must permanently change something about your character to reflect the creature who’s blood has become part of you. It might be a bond, flag, a look, or some other quirk.

Veritas precise, close, reach, 1 weight

Veritas is a whip that once belonged to the hero of a long gone civilization. The word veritas translated to “truth” in a language ancient even to him, making Veritas literally “The Whip of Truth”. When wielded by expert hands it can compel those it restrains to answer a question truthfully.

When using Veritas to Hack and Slash you gain an additional option on 10+: Deal no damage and restrain your opponent. Ask the GM one question directed at that opponent, which must be answered truthfully.
