HOW TO BUY HARD COPIES

I still have still have a few hundred copies of The Perilous Wilds, A Book of Beasts, and Freebooters on the Frontier left over from the original print run. Follow these steps if you’d like to purchase any of these books (all prices are USD):

1) Calculate your book cost and weight:

The Perilous Wilds is SOLD OUT

+$6/2 oz. per copy of A Book of Beasts

+$5/2 oz. per copy of Freebooters on the Frontier

Servants of the Cinder Queen  is SOLD OUT

2) Calculate your shipping cost based on total book weight:

+$0.50 per oz. to ship within the US

+$1.00 per oz. to ship to Canada

+$1.50 per oz. to ship anywhere else

3) Paypal the total of book cost+shipping cost to jhlutes@gmail.com

Please include “L&B” in the subject line, and include your shipping address as well as which books you want in the body of your email.

Please note that shipping costs are higher for non-US customers than during the Kickstarter, because I did a poor job of estimating those costs when I set up the campaign!

I am currently looking into how to get everyone who orders hard copies a 50% discount on the DTRPG PDF versions of the books.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here’s a question about spell availability (again) for folks who have run Freebooters.  I was talking with one of the players in my campaign after our game last night who plays a magic user.  His character is now 3rd level, and he has the capacity to memorize 4 spells at once, but still only has the basic 2 spells he started with.  I put some spells he could learn in a couple of the dungeons they have explored so far, but I put them in the hardest parts of the dungeons and the PCs have decided to wait and tackle those areas later when they are more powerful.  the player wasn’t unhappy, but felt a little left behind since he had this wasted capacity for his character.  Any ideas?  I’m tempted to make new spells a little more available to keep pace with his growing ability to use them, but I don’t want to overpower the MUs in the campaign over the other characters.  he did get a minor magic item in the game (once he figures out what it does), so he’ll have another magical toy to play with, but I certainly sympathize with his desire to learn some actual new spells.

What are you doing to determine treasure in Freebooters? Using the DW treasure table, or something else?

Just had some solo fun rolling up a bunch of freebooters, which I am planning to use for convention or one-shot games. I really enjoyed the randomness, with many of them being just terrible and one lucky freebooter who got an 18 and two 16s.

I think I’ll just make people pick by reading out the basic description: “Esward, a chaotic human magic user”.

And Jason Lutes, I absolutely loved the spell generation! Hilarious! The aforementioned Esward starts with “Winda’s Sigil of Sight” and “Parteria’s Enveloping Despair”.

So I’ve been looking into ways to sell the rest of the physical copies from the print run.

So I’ve been looking into ways to sell the rest of the physical copies from the print run. Gumroad, Paypal Payments, etc.

I’m wondering if I can just pin a post to this Community with complete payment/shipping details and my email address for people to Paypal me funds directly. It seems like the most direct route. Anyone care to disabuse me of this notion?

We’re talking 150-250 copies of each of the print books, not a lot of inventory.
