Legacy Weapon

I recently published the Legacy Weapon, as a supplement for 1 on 1 play in Dungeon World.

The Legacy Weapon is its own playbook that is designed to complement a single player (playbook). It provides a way to give that character additional moves that will facilitate 1 on 1 play.

You can hear a bit about it from Jason Cordova on Discern Realities Episode 41.

You can pick it up on DriveThruRPG here…

I have a question about the Dungeon World Codex, the site where you can create and share monsters.

I have a question about the Dungeon World Codex, the site where you can create and share monsters.

Is that site covered under Creative Commons, and if so, which version?

I am working on a small adventure for publication and I pulled two stats blocks from the site. One I re-skinned from a Fire form to an Ice form, and one I would want to use as is.

Am i allowed to do that, and do I just need to credit the Codex if I do? Or do I need to go back and make these monsters from scratch?

A question to the group, and I apologize if someone has asked this previously.

I am running a convention one-shot session.  The adventure is written without time for the party to take a rest and level up.  The adventure takes place in the course of a few hours.

Part of the consolation prize for rolling 6- is marking XP, and I love that. For this game though, it does not seem like there is a way for players to utilize their XP.

Has anyone done on-the-fly leveling of characters or any other use for accumulated XP during the course of the adventure?

Ok…I need a little design help.

Ok…I need a little design help. I am working on a one-shot adventure for running at Conventions. I dont want to give away the real plot so lets us this example.

The PC’s have been hired to get an artifact from a dungeon.  They know that another party of adventurers have also been hired, and are also in the dungeon.

I want to have a series of escalating steps of the other party getting closer to the artifact, eventually reaching the artifact. So the escalation steps could be:

– Discover signs of a rival party

– Stumble into a trap by the rival party

– The way is blocked by the rival party

– The rival party is getting the artifact

– The rival party is leaving with the artifact

I also don’t want to just escalate the actions of the other party when I feel like it. I want something like being able to only escalate as part of or as a move. So that I as the GM don’t know if the other party will be in the artifact chamber when the players get there.  Perhaps the players are efficient and move through their challenges quickly and outsmart the other party.  Or perhaps they do not do as well, and when they arrive in the chamber its empty with scrape marks showing the artifact has been dragged away.

Here is my question.  How in Dungeon World do I model this?

Is this an Adventure Front? If so, would I use a move to (and which one) to escalate it?   Or is it something totally different?

Does anyone have a small form DW character sheet?

Does anyone have a small form DW character sheet? I am using a 6×9 sketch book for my campaign book, and I want to put my character into the book, rather than using a full-size sheet.

Does anyone have something like that?
