Where does the Area tag come from? It’s on the Mage class, but it doesn’t offer much explanation.

So next up, organizations!

Since steadings have three main tags (prosperity, population, defenses), my initial thinking is to maintain parity with organizations and then have a bunch of other tags the same way steadings does.

So my first shot at the three main steading tags are:

– Membership: how many people/intelligent beings are in the organization?

– Influence: How much economic/political/otherwise pull does the organization have?

– Notoriety: How well-known is the organization?

And then I shall go from there.

I’m putting it in the Compendium Classes section because, well, it has compendium classes in it. It is, however, a campaign supplement with more than just CCs.

It’s not complete, but I figured I might as well put up something to show and say I participated.

There’s a write-up of a main city and its steading tags (as best as I could grok the rules), and three of the six CCs I have ready to go. There will be a brief writeup for the town and keep that are mentioned with their steading tags, as well as (potentially) a new Agenda and Principles (which it was suggested I put in).

Anyhow, here it goes.

In the Level Up move, it says that if you have a number of XP equal to your level + 7, you can Level Up. Was the +7 intentional, as in some formula was looking to be achieved, or was there some other motivation involved?

(Potentially stupid) Steading rules question: do higher-order tags under Prosperity, Population, and Defenses replace lower-order ones, or add to them? When a village gets +Prosperity, does that mean it has both Dirt and Poor, for example?

As I read the Steading creation/generation/evolution rules in preparation for my little #FighterWeek campaign supplement, I’m starting to think about adapting them to organizations, secret societies, guilds, cults, etc. and so forth.

I’ve been working on converting a D&D 3.5 base class samurai that we worked up back in the day to DW. After seeing Sage LaTorra ‘s Battlemind in play, and thinking it’s pretty rad, I’ve been thinking that the way the D&D class works is less as a traditional samurai and more like a “sword monk”, something like the Battlemind only plus sword or axe or some bladed weapon. With all the Crouching Tiger references in the class, I’m seeing this concept as Li Mu Bai and the Green Destiny, basically.

The original D&D class had six(6) forms that you had to choose from, which would give you five stances per form. This translated to thirty(30) abilities.

So, my question to everyone is: a base class for each blade form, each similar to the Battlemind (in the same way that someone made a slate of Thief-like classes for an all Thief game) or an extensive compendium class that sits on top of the Battlemind? The latter was my initial inclination, but the former has been suggested to me.

I’m not posting anything until I have a first draft, and I’m not looking for move suggestions, I really just want to see what y’all think about which direction I should take. Thanks in advance!
