Hey folks. Perhaps this has been discussed already so my apologies if it has but why couldn’t I use dungeon world to run a game in a pre-established setting (Eberron, Dragonlance, Middle Earth etc…)?

Hey guys.
Hey guys. How do you adapt a module from osr systems to work with dungeon world? Being that dungeon world is about playing to find out what happens and leaving blank spaces do you just set up the basic premise of the module and then plug in locations and npcs as needed? I kind of want to run expedition to the barrier peaks but not sure how to do it in DW. Thanks.
Hey Tavern.
Hey Tavern. Here is a link to a Dungeon World actual play that I ran. This was my first time running DW and I think it went well.
Hey guys.
Hey guys. I have a question about groups and hordes. When a monster in the book says it fights in a group (3-6) and then lists hp and damage is that hp and damage for the entire group or just one monster in that group? If it’s just one do you stack hp and damage or just add +1 for each monster?
Hey folks.
Hey folks. Running a 2 hour one shot on Tuesday and I want to know if you gms pick the enemies in advance or ask the players to supply the opposition?
Like: “fighter, what do you expect to fight here”? Or, “cleric, what defiles this place that you are charged with cleansing from this once holy place?”
Do you guys usually plan in advance which monsters the pcs will face in your session or do you just kinda go with…
Do you guys usually plan in advance which monsters the pcs will face in your session or do you just kinda go with what they tell you? Like asking the fighter “what kind of dangers do you expect to find here”?
Does this question depend also on where you are in your campaign?
Hey guys.
Hey guys. I am going to start running Dungeon World soon and I don’t want to prep too much because I really want to let the players tell their stories not be forced into mine. But is it OK to create a starting location and general quest?
Like “you heard a rumor of a magic item that could help turn the tide in the battle against the demons. It has led you to the summit of a mountain at the stairs of a forgotten temple”
And then start asking questions to fill in the other details? I hope that question makes sense.
Does anyone run short adventures?
Does anyone run short adventures? Like 2-2.5 hours? I’m hoping to be able to run a weekly or biweekly game on a weekday but I can only do it for a couple hours. Does anyone see that being an issue? Any tips?
Question on how you prep a one shot.
Question on how you prep a one shot. I am worried I’m over thinking it but would you prep it just like any adventure with your fronts and threats and grim portents and all that? Any articles of youtube videos on the subject would be most helpful
I am having a hard time understanding how to create an adventure for Dungeon World using the stuff from the book.
I am having a hard time understanding how to create an adventure for Dungeon World using the stuff from the book. Does anyone have any youtube videos or podcasts that show how the process works? At this point I’m more interested in one shots than campaign play. Thanks.
