I got bored and threw together a jungle exploration hex sandbox thing. Figured I’d share it in case anyone has feedback or wants to use it for anything.

It contains one text document containing random and keyed encounters, a picture format of the map, and a Hexographer file of the map.

The Monolith From Beyond Space & Time (http://www.lotfp.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=monolith&category_id=0&product_id=154) is used in one hex, though nothing else external should be needed.

I have created all the monsters in the random encounters (marked locations may get theirs later, where needed) using the Monster Codex (http://codex.dungeon-world.com/profile/249001).

Well, I think that’s everything. Oh, the scale should be about 24 miles (my standard “large” hex size), so 1-3 days to cross each.

Please let me know if you use it and/or have any thoughts.

I had to share this!

It’s one of the (many, rather) classes I’ve been working on, and I really do like it.

It’s meant to be an aggressive warrior with some distinction from the fighter. It’s also meant to be closer to the “combat-y” barbarian than the official one (which I like, anyway).

Figured I’d throw it out here and see what’s good.

I wrote up a Swashbuckler class some time ago, and maybe posted it to the forum, but I was re-reading it and I still really love this piece of equipment!

(Not actually a magic item, but there’s no general “equipment” section.)

Bottle of cheap wine (+1-forward to parley when shared / +1-forward to hack and slash when downed quickly / 1-piercing, 3-uses, hand when empty / 2 weight)

Good news, everyone! Formless elder horrors!

I’m working on a new adventure (which may or may not ever be released to the public) and drafted this beasty as the big bad. He’s, uh, big and bad, probably the most lethal monster I’ve written up.

I wrote him using the rules right outta the book, but I’d be careful with him in play unless your players are really crafty, really lucky, or really well equipped.

I’m not sure how the formatting will come through, hope it looks okay!

Avatar of Kanthun-opruk, the Gray Thing (Solitary, Large, Magical, Stealthy, Divine, Intelligent, Planar, Terrifying, Amorphous)

This formless gray mist, full of bloody eyes and fangs and ephemeral maws, exudes long, slimy gray tentacles. It howls out obscenities and blasphemies in every language, and sometimes – when it suits it’s purposes – it will speak to mortals, but never with good purpose.

23 HP, 5-armor

Tentacles: d12+3 close/reach

Special Quality: Formless, shapeless, with many limbs and teeth

Instinct: to drag the world into madness and suffering

* grasp, squeeze, and drag

* disappear into shadows and mist

* exude a sickening mist

* swallow someone into madness and corruption

* spit out something twisted or broken

Hey, everyone!

Hey, everyone!

Hey, everyone!

I don’t know if this has been done, but I got some inspiration and realized that something seemed missing from Wizards… animal familiars!

So, I wrote up a draft. It may need some work.

In particular, I’m interested in new familiar types as well as possible advanced moves to add.

Thanks!
