  1. Matt Horam John Lewis  What strikes me about this, is that there are 10 ideas/examples for each category on the handout. You could use it as a generator like in The Perilous Wilds. Roll1d10 for each category and see what zany adventure you’re going on today. Could even be for ongoing campaigns when you finish up a story arc and are at a loss on what is next or enter a new area of the world. In the spirit of all this, I grabbed a d10 and tried it for myself.

    First Line

    I got:7,6, 9

“We are exploring a lost valley that lies deep in an ancient forest seeking the fortress of a tyrannical warlord.”

    Second Line

    I got: 7, 5, 3

“We are here to recover our souls guarded by monstrous hordes and a fallen angel.”

    Happy Dungeoning!

  2. As a quick side note; oftentimes I modify the list for a convention by adding proper nouns to many of the entries. For example, “a legendary battle site” might be reworded, “the legendary site of the Battle of the Blind Sisters.” Maybe “vault of the last dwarven king” could have “the legendary Khazahd-Nar” added to the end of the sentence. Or “an un-living lord” modified to “the Dreaded Lich Queen.”

Doing this can invoke a sense of an existing world and setting if that is desireable. I’ve tried it both ways and both seem to have good results. In fact, I carry both sets of cards and usually make the decision after sitting down at the table. For less-experienced gamers I usually use the “proper noun” cards but that’s just me.
