A Compendium Class is like a Prestige Class for Dungeon World. There’s an entry move that you have to do to start taking moves from it. Once you’ve done the entry move (such as “studied under the great Master An-Potek”), you can take moves from the Compendium Class as you level up.

They are much smaller, usually 7 to 10 moves. Not a full playbook.
Usually 3-5 Moves i would say.
Fact, 3-5 is the sweet spot.
I remembered there being more in the Kickstarter Backer classes. I just checked and they range from 5 to 7 moves. Sorry about that David Benson.
