Is this the right thing to do?
What happened: The adventurers have beaten the evil mutated orc shaman and are now nearly dead and nearly trapped in a collapsing dungeon.
We could spend the next session with them trying to get out. It would be interesting. Very hard to do, but interesting.
On the other hand, one of the players took the #inverseworld captain skyship move. He hasn’t gotten the ability to use his skyship because it’s out of the dungeon. I am a fan of his character and denying him the access to his ship for this session too seems harsh. I was thinking of doing the “how we got out” with loveletters at the beginning of the session.
Would you be okay with this as players?
I would. Still fun in my future, even if is not what I expected.
The captain would probarbly roll about his ship. 10+ everything is fixed (how?) 7-9 choose 1 problem you still have to tackle in the near future
6- choose 3
Yeah, it is one way to take some strong narrative control to skip the actually kinda boring scrape out of a dungeon hurt and bleeding bit. Build in some tough choices like “what did you leave behind” and “how did you end up with this clutch of kobold eggs and why doesn’t anyone else know about them”
what would you roll to repair an airship? +control or +DEX ?
+Bond: Airship
His airship is his mistress
(probably +control)
If you think the story would be more fun for yourself and other peeps (skycaptain included), then make it so #1!
