Not sure where to put this – I’ve decided to go ahead and kick off a PbP game of Dungeon World.

Not sure where to put this – I’ve decided to go ahead and kick off a PbP game of Dungeon World. Looking for folks who can average at least 1 post per day on week days, and then a more lax schedule on weekends.

This is the first time I’ve ran DW in PbP, but I’ve done other games before. Looking to create the world with the players. Anyway, request to join if you’re interested:

  1. BTW, I just posted a link in the game for a way to set it up so rpol mails you if there are new posts – not sure if it sets that by default for folks, but it’ll help keep you up to date 🙂

  2. Hey guys, the game is all full, but I’ve gotten a LOT of interest in this. I think there are at least 3-4 other folks who have asked to join after the game filled up. It might be worth it if one of you start another of these games – I wish I could run another, and maybe after I get this one going and start to feel comfortable with it I’ll start another, but just letting everyone know that there is interest!

  3. To be fair PbP can be a lot easier than playing in person – you have a little more time to think about things (which is great for such a dynamic game like DW) and you & the players can really get into writing some awesome fiction since it’s more like collaboratively writing a book than storytelling.

That said, the hardest part is keeping up the momentum. I’ve sent messages to all the folks who applied to my game on RPOL but didn’t get in – hoping one of you will be up for running a game for the rest 🙂

  4. Thanks! Honestly at this point it’s all the awesome players and their ideas – I hope I can provide adventures that are worthy of the cool stories that have been created so far 🙂

  5. Just read all the posts myself. Looking really cool. I’ll have to read for a bit to see how PbP games are supposed to play out, and then I might be willing to GM one for some people also.

  6. It’s been a long time since I’ve played WoD, but I used to run servers that had WoD MUSHes on them. I would say stick to rules light systems if you can – it makes things a lot easier. That said, I don’t think WoD would be SUPER hard.

Also, wow, feeling the pressure to make this game good! 🙂 Seriously, I’ve bene blown away by the creativity of the players. They’ve almost given me TOO much to work with.

What’s extra awesome is that it makes it easy to be a fan of the characters – and it’s definitely a world I’d love to play in 🙂

Michael Walsh Ovy Ortega If you guys need a hand with PbP or RPOL let me know. I’m glad to help.

  7. Hahaha – the game system I’ve really wanted to use for every other game that I’ve played but thought the mechanics got too complicated is FATE. Honestly I’d love to see a mixture of FATE & DW – there are so many parts of each that I freaking love.

I really want to do a Scion type game (without the crunch) based on FATE or FATE Accelerated Edition. ESPECIALLY after reading these APs:
