To be honest we’ve done both. Its nice to go out to some interesting scenery and then back to Dis for other machinations.
Ok, let me try it this way. Is there any info on other planes in The Dark Heart of the Dreamer, or is it all about Dis?
Of the three or four we’ve played, one was solely in Dis, another was solely ‘on the road’, the rest broke down into a mix of PCs dealing with personal/job related biz in the city before going extra-planar.
I am using the book as a supplement to running Ptolus.
Yeah, the booklet itself is less a “guide to the planes” than it is a guide to running multicultural urban mercenary adventures. There’s no table or guidelines for generating random planes aside from suggestions to draw on Calvino. Though somebody should clearly whip something up.
Okay, okay, fine, give me a day or two and I’ll write up “Thrice-Damned Realms of Madness” or something.
In my game most of the action goes down in Dis and the different parishes with the occasional foray into a random plane.
Yeah, I got the impression from the actual play I’ve read that most folks are playing in Dis most of the time. That’s cool.
