To people who have seen the development of Dungeon World since beta or earlier: Did the definition of fronts change during development? Right now it looks pretty much the same as in Apocalypse World, but there are passages in the book suggesting that it wasn’t always so.

  1. What passages?

Fronts have always been fairly similar to AW. At one point we had included the idea of multiple campaign fronts (roughly like multiple home fronts in AW) but we trashed it. That’s the only big difference that we had but removed that I can think of.

  2. I received an impression that fronts may have been at one point simplified to consist of a single grim portents-impending doom pair, rather than of multiple dangers each with a separate portents-doom pair, especially in the Multiple Adventure Fronts section. I was curious if it was indeed the case, and I guess it wasn’t 🙂
