Defend move help

Hey community, quick question about how you personally have used the Defend move: is it something that you allow players to take a second to activate and it be ‘Turned on’ while they still act normally?

Such as, a player asked me ‘Can I, like, have a defensive stance active and still have and slash?’

It piqued my mind and it makes narrative sense that some people may want to wantonly rage into combat, while this player was wanting to, moreso, have a cooler head about it.

How would you balance it so that it seems fair and supposed in gameplay? Have you dealt with this or something similar?

Hello community,

What are your thoughts on your ultimate GM/DM/MC tool kit? Do you use a binder, do you have less/more, do you use tables, do you only use what you post on your DM screen, minimalist, no screen, etc?

What do you actually bring to the table?

Is the GM’s kit a pipe dream? What I bring constantly changes and I enjoy getting all the fidgety bits and doodads, but I seem to be in a state of flux on what is my right mix. I’d love to hear what you bring to game.

Why is it be 7+?

Why does the NPC choose their own reaction?

Is it not really a combat driven move?

I watch a bunch of videos, listen to podcasts, and look at kick starts and the like in regards to aids and supplements for table top games (for games other than PBtA/DW). I swear every time an indy company or notable person comes up with ground breaking tech to change their Trad game into something better, I always think ‘…..Yeah, DW already does that!’

Am I the only one who thinks this? Am I the only one who thinks DW is as close to the perfect RPG experience as it may ever get?

I am going to be running a table at Free RPG day and will be running DW.

What quick start mission, module, or one shot do you suggest I bring?

I read someplace that Sage Latorre mentioned that he created an alternative fighter that addressed some of his concerns with the previous build. Does anyone know more about this?
