Hi all

Hi all

Hi all,

I recently played a short adventure as a doppelganger in Pathfinder and it was so fun I decided to make a doppelganger playbook for Dungeon World!

I am still working on it presently but I’m eager to get some feedback since it is the first playbook I’ve made. Gear and advanced moves are still being devised.

For reference, I am basing the abilities and lore off of the doppelganger from Pathfinder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/monstrous-humanoids/doppelganger).

I’ve been making a couple of passes through some of my old projects, and I decided to try making a simple version of the Druid to go with my previous Simple Playbooks project. I decided to limit Shapeshift to just a few different predetermined forms to make it simpler. It’s enough to give a good spread of potential moves while not adding too much burden on coming up with moves and adjucation on the spot. Any requests for more forms? I could go with one or two more.

I tried putting in a GM reference sheet, but honestly, I was just copying the book almost verbatim. Maybe just a cover sheet/rules reference page.

And yes, I did make a Paladin too. It’s almost completely unchanged from RAW.

I’ve got 2 questions:

1. How do you guys handle a Barbarian’s “Herculean Appetites?” I’m having a hard time figuring out what it means in terms of mechanics.

2. How do you guys handle a Druid’s “Shapeshifter” and “Shed”moves? What’s to prevent someone from using Shed ad infinitum?

I’m new to GMing, so any and all pieces of advice are very much appreciated. Thanks!

I finished the new playbook template and playkit!

I finished the new playbook template and playkit! You can get the redesigned playkit (named Playkit Plus) with added race moves(16 new moves), reworked bonds, and other neat stuff over on DriveThruRPG. More details are in the product description, and there is a changelog linked in the playkit for anyone who wants the full scoop.

The new playbook template is a Google Doc, CC-BY, and comes is 8.5×11 and A4 size:

A4 playbook template:

I can’t guarantee it will display right on your computer, Google Docs just is that way unfortunately.

I hope you all like the playkit and the template, and thanks to everyone who helped out by providing feedback.

I saw the issue of the Druid using Shapeshift to overcome every problem come up again.

I saw the issue of the Druid using Shapeshift to overcome every problem come up again. This is a revision to the class that I had come up with. It limits the Druid to just one animal that they can shapeshift into. To compensate, they get Elemental Mastery as a new starting move. While EM is also a highly versatile move, it has some more stringent downsides to it, especially on a 7-9.

What do you think, sirs?

Is there any playbook to play a talking animal fighter like RedXIII from Final Fantasy or Aslan from narnia?
