We’ve decided to go full-on “West Marches” for our Freebooters campaign, so I’ve created a G+ community to keep things organized.  It’s primarily for local players to post to, but I thought that some folks here might enjoy following along and seeing how we work things.  Thanks to Jason Lutes for the Freebooters and Perilous Wilds rules which make this style of game so much easier!

I got my package and I am so very impressed Jason Lutes!  It feels like I got a package from RPG gaming past.

To be honest looking through it actually made me very sad.  Folks in my line of work rarely, if every, have the opportunity to make something from nothing as you have done here.  Looking at there books I can see why some cultures considered writing to be a kind of magic.

I cannot wait to read them and hopfully put them to good use.  My copy of The Perilous Wilds has a little crumpling at the spine but it is not too serious and everything is otherwise fine.  Thank you.

I got my package the other day.

I got my package the other day. All my books had some crumpling, but Jason Lutes proved a few things with this project.

#1 He makes interesting and beautiful adventures and resources

#2 Lampblack projects break the mold of terminally late kickstarters. (same with Servants)

#3 Jason’s customer service is top notch on both of these projects.

I’m pretty sure Jason Lutes could pull a Jamie Stegmaier (Stonemaier Games) and put on master classes in KS.

I got to run Freebooters for the first time last night, and posted an actual play of the session on RPGNet.  Thanks…

How would you handle campaign Fronts in a Freebooters game?

Somehow it strikes me as a very different game as soon as you start to plan out any doom that the adventurers need to deal with. Stashing away coin might become less important if there is a town/country/world to save. It is my gut instinct just to skip campaign Fronts altogether.

Curious what you would all do with Fronts. Skip em, do em differently or do it the standard way?

Edit: unless of course saving that town yields a ton of coin!

Got the books today — or at least I think I got all of them.  The bottom of the envelope was fully torn open but the contents were luckily relatively unscathed.  Were there three physical books (PJ, Freebooters, and the Bestiary)?  Bestiary is a little crimped but not too bad.  Did you still want pics?

Anyhow, excited about the content!  While I had seen the PDFs a while ago of course seeing it together with the wonderful art is awesome.  Thanks for the awesome KS, when’s the next one?  =)
