Inspired by Joe Banner  and Burk Diggler, I’ve modified some of the treasure tables for my planarch campaign, which involves many different districts and town, without a common currency. I also added a new job for the perilous journey. A lot of it is stolen from  http://joebanner.co.uk/you-cant-buy-happiness/

This is some advice, tips, and breakdown of real-play example on ONE way to GM dungeon world. Everyone has their own style. This is mine.

We recorded our latest session, but it cut out for some reason halfway through.

Our latest session! The group pisses off a wizard, and pays the price, while reaping their rewards!

Gotta love that expression.

A follow-up to my Magic Card conversion. I created a template, and some basic directions for use. Your milage may vary. Let me know how I can improve it.

Right now, if you fill in the table, and nothing bleeds onto a another page, then each cell will be JUST smaller than a magic card when printed out. Perfect for placing in slips or covers.

Hey Taverners! I’ve got two questions:

Hey Taverners! I’ve got two questions:

1) I’ve been turning magic cards into dungeon world monsters for my own personal monster manual. Would anyone else want these? I could type them up, make it fancy, etc.

2) For my GM talk this saturday, is there anything that you want me to talk about/cover?

If you’re having trouble creating, describing, and giving life to monsters, just look at some magic cards.

I did a little math, and the numbers CAN be used to estimate attack/armor, but the better option is to look at the picture, read the lore, and run it through the dungeon world monster creator:

This is also a great way to ensure detailed descriptions. Your players never need to see the card. you can just describe what you see, and they will interpret it in their imaginations.

Here’s one for the card below, for example:

Reya Dawnbringer

Group, Magical, Divine, Organized, Intelligent, Cautious

Divine Gladius (b[2d10+2] damage 1 piercing)   Close, Near

12 HP 5 armor

The Reya are the elite force of angels created by an ancient and nameless God. They enforce justice, and ensure that the evils of the world are kept in check. The Dawnbringer is the captain of this angelic force, and a dangerous foe to reckon with. Instinct: to enforce justice

Flying attacks

Summon Legion

Hello Taverneers.

Hello Taverneers.

Hello Taverneers.

My planarch games have started! and they have proved to be very successful, fun, and easy for me to prep for. If you want to see how another group plays, or see how different GMs handle things, we’re going to start broadcasting our sessions via google+ hangouts. Join the group for more info!

We will for sure be playing every thursday from 6-10 EST

And I’m hoping to start a GM training session on saturdays that I’ll also be broadcasting. Time tbd. Let me know if you’re interested, want to tune in, or just curious as to how badly you can GM and still get away with it.
