Ok, so that’s just a brainstorm in my mind right now but would you play a card-based solo/coop boardgamy Dungeon Delve based on DW rules?

Card you’d find would be something like:

Strange glowing rune

Spout Lore:

When you consult your accumulated knowledge about that rune, roll+Int. ✴On a 10+, tell who inscribed that rune and how it can help you in your quest. Hold this card. You may discard this card to gain +1 forward to any check tied to the story you just told. ✴On a 7–9, tell who inscribed that rune but you’re not sure what it does. Gain +1 forward to your next check.

Question on 7-9 results.

Can/Should the GM do a soft GM move even when the 7-9 result of the move includes a “yes but” result?

Example : (from For the Blood God barbarian move) :

On a 7-9 the sacrifice is not enough and your gods

take of your flesh as well, but still grant you some insight or boon.

Some of your flesh is taken from you (that’s horrible!). That’s already the negative side of the move. Should the GM ALSO take a soft move on you?

I’m working on a Wardancer class.

I’m working on a Wardancer class.

I’m working on a Wardancer class. I’m not that knowledgeable on Warhammer but I find the flavor pretty cool : a savage wood elf that makes fluid moves on the battle field, dodging blows and arrows and making so erratic moves that enemies are easily confused.

All in all, I don’t necessarily want to follow the Warhammer canon, just inspired by.

It’s the first class I’m trying to make so I’m going blind on this. I accept failing and restarting from scratch few times 😛

So far, for the starting moves I have :

Wardance

When you Hack & Slash using your war dance style, add your Dex instead of your Str to your roll.

Cat’s Grace

Because you rely on your superior agility in combat, your Armor equals to your Dex when you don’t wear any armor or shield.

Fangs of the Cobra

When you Hack & Slash while fighting with two blades, on a hit you can deal Dex damage to a different target that is close.

I think it’s all fair… but it’s mostly combat oriented moves.

But I’m struggling to find something thematic for out of combat.

(My) Wardancers are fast and nimble. They fight with two short blades. They like arts. They practice their dance form which is akin to martial arts forms (like Kung-Fu or the like). They are brash (according to elf standards at least) and brave.

Anyone got ideas?

I wanted to expand a bit on the Undertake a Perilous Journey move. Here goes. Feedback welcome!

I struggled a bit with the Scout negative effets. Seems to me that everything would be covered by GM moves but you’re welcome to prove me wrong.

I’m running a one shot of DW for my d&d group next week and I’d like to use the same characters. They are lvl 8 in d&d. What should be an appropriate level for dw?

Hard moves and Soft moves.

Hard moves and Soft moves.

Hard moves and Soft moves.

When I’ve read that section in the book, I tough I’d have a list of hard moves and another list of Soft moves.

Actually, the game never tells me which one is considered a hard move.

I got that “a monster does its damage” is a Hard move, but what else?
