    Does anyone know if the internal art is different in these editions?

    If so, can we see it in another post to The Dungeon World Tavern community?

  32. Stephen Karnes The same nonsense that Rob felt the need to defend. I don’t care who likes this cover and who doesn’t, that’s a personal opinion. I’m not replying to everyone who posts “cool, I like it!”.

    But Rob put up a post that basically says, “if you don’t like this then we don’t want to hear about it.” This is just dumb and a sign of the kind of bullshit in our culture that I’m not willing to stay silent about anymore.

  33. Mike Schmitz I appreciate you trying to clarify, but I honestly, still don’t understand what you’re referring to. I just went back and read ThatRob BushGuy ‘s comment and I don’t see how it could be construed in the way that you said. What do you mean about the “kind of BS in our culture?”

  34. Stephen Karnes It’s probably easier to walk you through my thought process:

    First, I saw the new cover. I thought, “sigh, are we still doing this dumb mostly naked women thing? Lame”

    Second, I intended to make a comment stating that I wasn’t happy to see this 14 year old boy style marketing.

    Third, I saw Rob’s comment that, intentionally or not, has the effect of making me feel like my “no naked ladies on my rpgs please” comment wouldn’t be appreciated in this sub.

    From there, I can easily imagine that as a middle aged white guy it’s going to be a lot easier for me to say something here than for a woman who might be visiting this forum. Rob is creating an environment that’s unwelcoming. I wish he wouldn’t do that. It’s small, insiduous, and ought to be called out.

  35. Mike Schmitz Thanks for clearing that up. I hope I didn’t come across as confrontational or argumentative, I just sincerely didn’t know what was bothering you. I personally read ThatRob BushGuy as tongue-in -cheek, but I can’t speak for him.

    You and I are totally on the same page in regards to the cover and its depiction of women. As a teacher who plays DW with students aged 11-18, I wouldn’t want to to share this edition with my students for several reasons. I’m curious what Adam Koebel thinks about it.

    I appreciate you trying to keep the DW Tavern an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. It’s a big reason I love the game as much as I do.

    And yeah, I am tired of seeing sensible people staying quiet while this kind of thing goes on. This is me speaking out.

    I don’t know why you are trying to make this about me now, instead of realizing that you made a mistake and should reflect on it and learn from it. Especially since you agree that they’re gratuitous. I’m guessing then that you were just trying to be funny, but the effect was to stifle opinions that actually match your own.
