Sorry to go a little off-topic, but is there a pulp Indiana Jones-like Apocalypse Engine game out there? It’s really the only genre I’m lacking, with Dungeon World doing fantasy, Monster of the Week doing Supernatural / Buffy / etc. Thanks!

Aaron Griffin?
Eek! I kinda have one in the works but it’s way alpha level. Hasn’t even been playtested as a cohesive unit – just bits and pieces forced into other games.
Edit: if you have specific things you’d like to see in such a game, in all ears!
Like, Spirit of the Century in the Apocalypse Engine? Color me intrigued.
I was thinking about doing a 1930’s pulp style Hollow Earth type hack. Then I realized Uncharted Worlds pretty much does that already with just some quick reflavoring.
Good question! I think “The Bureau” could work quite well, if you’re happy with a lighter hack.

It would be fun to have a more thorough “pulp” game, though.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Some good ideas there — I hadn’t heard of Action Movie World or The Bureau, I’ll definitely check them out. Hadn’t thought of reflavoring an existing game but it does seem as if Uncharted Worlds would be perfect for it. I guess I just got hung up on “well, it’s sci-fi!” I am surprised there isn’t an established Pulp-dedicated game, though, given the popularity of the genre and that it seems every other genre is represented. Aaron, I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with — I’ll let you know if I think of anything in particular that’d be great to have.
Bit late I know, but I’ve successfully used Worlds in Peril a couple of times. Just tonnning down the super powers and wording them more as exceptional skills…
