Hey folks, do you have any tips for running a hexcrawl? Doesn’t need to be specific DW tips, as I don’t want to use much more than the core rules, but I was looking for “general” hints on keeping the game running and whatnot.

Try the Perilous Wilds by Jason Lutes.
Double post, good post! 😉 P.W. is VERY good for sandbox / hexcrawls.
Check out Into The Briarwood. That is a well done hexcrawl short that you can strip for gold
Side note: envelope without extra sourcebooks, Pedro, you’ll be all right. Use their resources, roll the perilous journey move, create maps as they tell in DW, leave blanks, also build interesting steadings using the rules. Lot of cool narrative will spring just from those elements. Boy, how much I love Dungeon World!
Make sure there are actual intelligent decisions to be made. Give the PCs lots of information about possible locations of things and threats to respond to. If they are ever going “Okay, we go north, because that’s as good a direction as any because we don’t know where we are going or what we are looking for” you have a f-d up bad.
Acquire drivethrurpg.com – Tome of Adventure Design. It’s an amazing resource.
I like having a prepared question for a given hex, like “there’s a small village off the road. What race built it? What is rumored to exist in the swamp nearby?”
Joseph F. Russo
That’s an interesting approach, but it presumes that the PCs know a lot about this part of the world. If you’re interested in doing a more “exploration” driven game, this may feel discordant.
