Hey ya’ll, I could use some help. I need some impressions for a new campaign I’m starting.
It takes place in a massive bio dome (roughly 50 miles) on a space ship. The biome is used for growing crops but it still has towns, rivers and such. Recently though, monsters have appeared and killed most of the population.
Sounds like the old Jim Ward RPG Metamorphosis Alpha. The old adventures are still sold at DriveThru.com by Goodman Games. I think somebody did a new version recently.
I did a Dungeon Starter recently that might help:

Also sounds a bit like phantasy star 2
Ross Kingston Jim Ward wrote his RPG in 1976. It was the first Sci-Fi tabletop RPG ever.
There was an old Canadian sci-fi show…Starship Ark or something like that that was much like this
Sorry it was called The Starlost
But, yeah, Metamorphosis Alpha was my first thought too
I’m assuming that the PCs are going to know they’re in a giant dome on a ship – or at least in a giant dome? How much ‘reveal’ are you going for? Are the monsters familiar creatures, or a complete unknown?
Most of the PC’s will have lived on the ship there whole lives. Though they now little to nothing about the monsters.
Impressions:
* What does it look like overhead? Can you see the dome? Are there multiple lights hung from titanic rafters, or does the thing revolve so an outside sun tracks through many windows?
* Is there night-time? Can you see the stars? Is there a “moon”?
* Is it a dome with a flat base, or are they living on the inside of rotating cylinder, or are they living on the inside of a sphere with artificial gravity?
* What is weather like? Is there rain? Are there places where it never rains, either on purpose or because the system is damaged?
* Are there seasons? Is it always comfortably warm? Are there places that are very hot or very cold?
* For some reason I imagine few really big trees, but lots of flowering jungle plants like philodendrons and knot-rooted ficuses and 20′ tall poinsettia trees.
