First draft of a “campaign starter” to be included in the Perilous Journeys Kickstarter as part of a potential stretch goal. Would love to hear about any glaring problems.

  1. Wondering why have characters roll up stats instead of the normal way? Otherwise I get the “Freebooter” aspect. I also like the focus on tracking resources.

Finally, I love the initial set up with the map, and the “edge of the known world” feeling.

  2. I find that rolling stats lends a feeling of making the best of what luck throws your way, and gives more significance to the raising of ability point scores upon level-up. In playtests using this approach, players have responded really positively. Plus the callback to D&D jibes with this campaign style.
