I don’t have much to add except that I’ll be enthusiastically incorporating most of your recent material into my campaigns!
Wondering why have characters roll up stats instead of the normal way? Otherwise I get the “Freebooter” aspect. I also like the focus on tracking resources.
Finally, I love the initial set up with the map, and the “edge of the known world” feeling.
I find that rolling stats lends a feeling of making the best of what luck throws your way, and gives more significance to the raising of ability point scores upon level-up. In playtests using this approach, players have responded really positively. Plus the callback to D&D jibes with this campaign style.
